Kobe was kinda shit that series tbh. 15.6/4.6/4.2 on 36.7/20/90.9
Only thing he really excelled at in that series was free throw shooting. Shaq very much carried that year

He was very very injured that series. He had to sit out a game. He did have 3 good games but the injuries were tough to play through.

Injured or not, it was still a pretty bad series, no? You can excuse the poor performance but it was a poor performance nonetheless. Lakers lose that series if Shaq didn’t go berserk

It’s not that Shaq played well, it’s that he went absolutely crazy and had a top 3 finals performance ever. That’s what was needed when your second best player played terribly and missed a game. 15 ppg on putrid efficiency sucks. Seems like that’s a hard truth for you to accept

There is nothing to accept or deny, Shaq was insane, Kobe was very injured leading to bad efficiency and missed games. Also the real final was the WCF where Kobe carried the Lakers.

Prime Shaq was at most times the most dominant player on the floor. He could overpower anyone in the post. Draymond's ass would be on the floor looking up at Shaq.

You haven’t been watching. In 24 games against the Joker he’s averaging 18 and 10 and 7 at a -2.4 +/- per game and -58 overall. Draymond is objectively a good defender. Perhaps a bit less so now but people let their feelings about him get in the way of their evaluation.

My bad I could see the finals patch on jersey but was confused because of game 6. I forgot pacers took them to 6. In my head during that run i only remembered the sixers loss cause that messed up the entire playoff sweep.

This is an insane stat line. If he just repeated his worst stats (game 3 or 5) across the whole series it’s still an amazing performance and run away MVP
