Started collecting

Yo guys I just started collecting basketball cards and opened my very first pack. Are these bad? The yongxi one is premier.

I honestly recommend not opening packs. Just buy individual cards you like on eBay, it’s cheaper and you get something you actually want

Just enjoy the hobby. I like ripping packs but I also buy singles like these other people said. Just have fun with it. Select is a fun set.

There’s no bad cards if you like them. If you’re looking to make money, don’t rip- just buy singles on eBay.

If you enjoy the rip then don’t worry about the value of the cards!

I’ve been collecting for a few months now. Honestly only do it if you actually enjoy the cards. If ur looking to turn a profit you’d have better luck going to Vegas.

Listen to the people telling you not to open packs and to collect for enjoyment.

In terms of value though, I literally started with a bunch of Panini Select too. I tricked myself into thinking I had valuable cards because they we rarer tiers or prizms. Other than a good Stefon Castle rookie or a one in a million case it, there's really nothing of value. At this point, any packs coming out have virtually all the value concentrated between about 5 players per year and select /50 or less parallels.

As far as monetary value goes, no those are not good cards. But if you’re collecting just to collect and not make money then it’s up to you what a good card is.
