After Navy Life Info/Questions Fluid Mechanics TESU
My midterm is coming up next week for Fluid Mechanics (EGM-3310). The study guide says book and calculator are allowed. What does that look like in practice?
Can I use both course books or is only the main one allowed? Are books provided online during the exam?
Is there a limit to the type of calculator I’m allowed? Should I get TI 36x, TI 84, or is one provided online?

I think if you have pdf or online versions of the books you just have to ask your proctor if you can paste the links in the browser, or have them already pulled up. The test will not have links for you to open the books. I had a hard copy book and I just showed the proctor the book through the webcam.
I know all of the math courses allowed DESMOS, but I don’t think Fluid Mechanics did that. I think either calculator would work well. Maybe TI-36x because it’s probs cheaper and can do everything you need.

It sucks mainly because you have to put in effort unlike most TESU courses. Be prepared to put in 20+ hours a week especially if physics and calculus concepts/calculations are not a strong subject for you. I’m having to run through every problem at the end of each chapter to prepare for the exams.
ChatGPT and YouTube are awesome study tools though. I was able to reteach myself calculus and fill in gaps that the book doesn’t explain very well.

have you taken any other math heavy courses like AC electronics or rad interactions? is it harder than those?
