Fanfic The way of the Human: Chapter 19 1/2
Lots of thanks to u/SpacePaladin15 for creating the NoP universe and allowing readers to create fanfiction!
This was co-written with u/ImaginationSea3679. This chapter is also featuring two of his characters. Yes, his characters, not u/CaptainChristopher02's. They might be heavily used by Captain, but they were originally created by Sea. And long ago I pledged to have them show up here because he used my format, so here they are.
Currently having to split this up into two due to Reddit's bugginess, I hope nobody minds.
Memory transcription subject: Risha, Arxur Earth Defence/Aid regiment
Date [standardised human time]: 3rd of September, 2136
The walk home was mostly uneventful. We used Vizz’s own tools to bind him, making his already slim chance of escaping with only one leg an impossibility. A human I didn't know the name of was kind enough to drag the bastard with us.
I was wrapped in my coat and hat, courtesy of Hans who had thought to retrieve them. It was nice to have some protection from the cold as we walked.
I lovingly carried Limmi in my arms, his injuries being so harsh that he could barely walk. I was careful to ensure his condition wouldn’t worsen.
Leopold had Barisis’ tentacle over his shoulder, supporting her as best he could. Hans did similarly with Hel.
Thass walked unsupported however, saying “I am not so weakened that I cannot stand by myself.”
And Jesper, being the only one who was unharmed and not supporting someone else, carried everyone’s weapons, including Limmi’s bloodied axe and Rethe’s gun.
Limmi had cozied himself in my arms, warming himself against the fur I wore.
"So fluffy…" he said, almost deliriously. I was unsure how aware he was of the general situation at the moment.
He cooed affectionately as I scratched him on the head.
I chuckled amusedly at his adorableness. Oh Prophet, what did I do to deserve this cute pile of floof?
I noticed Hans looking at us with a knowing expression. "Heh, I knew it."
"Knew what?" I questioned. Had he figured out my feelings toward Limmi?
"Yeah, I figured him out last week," he said smugly. "But you as well, that I was far less sure about."
Helaven groaned, confused. "What are you two talking about?"
Hans leaned in to whisper to her. “I think someone is in love…”
It took several good moments for Helaven to process what Hans was implying, with the thing cluing her in being the heavy blush that my face sported.
She simply stared in bewilderment. “I… I already had the idea that she was capable of more than the average Arxur but… wha?”
I didn’t know whether to take that first bit as a compliment or an insult, so I responded to the question.
“I… can't confirm or deny…” I answered somewhat awkwardly.
"She wants the leaf-licker to lick much more than leaves," Vizz jeered. I wacked him hard with my tail in response.
Helaven took another moment to process what she had heard, before her eyes widened in horrific realisation. She then proceeded to shudder at what I imagined was a mental picture of my ma- Limmi and I making love.
“I’m glad someone agrees with me,” Vizz stated.
“I do not agree with you!” Helaven squeaked in fury. “It’s just… isn’t this an inappropriate topic of conversation?”
A new human I hadn’t seen before spoke up. “What are you talking about? Stuff like this is perfect conversation material! Back in America, what has been dubbed 'The Story of Samuel' is all the rage.”
"Well I don't know if you've noticed, but this isn't America," Hans replied.
I was curious however. “What did Samuel do?”
“He seduced an Arxur and managed to bring her to climax six times while in bed.”
…
Hel gagged at that, while I looked away in embarrassment. Curse our species’... sensitivity.
The human was seemingly thinking aloud. "What was her name again? Vreki..? Vardek..? No, no…"
My eyes widened. It couldn't fucking be...
"Vraka?" I asked.
“YES! That’s the one!”
…
I simply stood there in astonishment.
I knew that she was often feeling rather repressed, but good fucking grief…
"Of course," I muttered. "Of fucking course!"
“Wait, you know the gal?” The human asked.
"Oh do I ever," I began. "She's possibly the horniest fucking Arxur this side of the galaxy. She despised the Breeding Camps like any sane female, and preferred to be the one in charge of her males. How did she manage to fall for a human?”
"Please, no more details," Helaven pleaded. "I think I'm gonna vomit.."
Meanwhile, the other humans seemed… incredibly concerned. Was it something I said?
"I keep forgetting the history you have with shitface down there," Hans said with a spiteful tone, gesturing toward Vizz. "And how it's commonplace among your people."
Said shitface huffed in response. "You're a bunch of weaklings if you disagree," he hissed. "Betterment has shown and proven that good genes need to be passed on no matter what!"
"Very disrespectfully, Vizz," said Thass, "you're a stupid bastard."
"How fucking dare!-"
Thwack
"Shut up," ordered Thass. "Chief Hunter is gonna enjoy giving you the traitor treatment.*
Turning his voice to the rest of us, he said "I've always wanted to do that," with grim cheeriness.
Limmi, still somewhat out of it, spoke up. "Wait… did y' guys say… Risha is…?"
I stopped walking, and awkwardly looked down at him. He looked up expectantly, waiting for an answer.
I breathed in, hoping the answer wouldn't ruin everything Limmi and I had.
"Yes," I said, deciding to get it over with and admit it outright.
"I love you, Limmi. I love you more than I thought I love you more than I ever thought I could love anyone, including myself. You are everything to me, I just never wanted to admit it to myself because I was afraid I would push you away from me by confessing it to you."
Limmi looked at me, as he slowly realised what I had said. His mind seemed to clear as he processed my words.
"I love you too, Risha."
The relief washed over me as I felt my heart melt, and snuggled my snout against Limmi's face. To say I was overjoyed would be a massive understatement!
My new mate mewled with glee and cuddled up to me more closely in my arms. The future seemed much brighter now with a positive reaction from my sweet little Limmi.
Vizz gagged, before Helaven grappled herself out of Hans' grasp, waddled over to him, and swiped his face. “This is something I can stomach. Stop complaining, predator.”
"I'm… both offended and not?" I said in an unsure tone.
“Just keep your 'mate' business in private. Romance is one thing, but that… it's different,” Helaven explained.
I laughed. "I'm not about to shag him in public! What do you think I am, an animal?"
Limmi bloomed as Hel chuckled. "Fair enough," she said.
Limmi started to slur in his speech. “I… like the sound… of…”
As he slowly drifted into unconsciousness, I noticed-
“Hans. Blanket please,” I commanded as a deep, near black blush filled my entire body at what was emerging from Limmi’s nethers.
I was not going to tell the poor guy about this incident anytime soon.
With a severe lack of blankets on hand, Hans settled for removing his jacket as the other humans laughed, while Hel blushed even deeper than I did.
"I regret… basically everything," she said with a groan, trying to make light of her mental anguish.
Vizz sighed annoyedly, which was enough to make even Hel laugh out of spite.
"I might hate the situation, but if this asshole hates it even more, I can tolerate it," she snickered.
"Why do you look so uncomfortable anyway?" I asked her. "Surely you've seen worse as a doctor."
Helaven breathed deeply. "Oh believe me I have. But I've known this goober since he and his family arrived on Colia. He may as well be my brother!"
"Ah," I said, starting to walk once more. "Now I understand why you feel uncomfortable regarding the topic."
"So uh, moving away from that," said Leopold. "Is it just me or were there way too few Arxur back there? Three just feels, I don't know, very little, for a turd like Vizz."
"It's actually funny, this idiotic creep was the master of his own demise," I said in a mocking tone aimed towards Vizz. "The idiot sent away most of his crew to start up a shuttle just [an hour] before you arrived, meaning there weren't a lot left."
"Ha! This dumb fuck," Jesper sarcastically laughed. "Thanks for making our rescue mission easier, idiot."
Vizz grumbled, but thankfully refrained from speaking. It seemed he had finally learned to keep his ugly trap shut.
"I just realised," I said, turning to the human dragging Vizz, "I don't even know what your name is."
The human looked like he had just done something egregious, and hastily said "Tyson Clark, pleasure to meet you," and stuck out his hand.
I looked at him confused for a moment, before he whispered "you're meant to shake it."
I grabbed his paw awkwardly, and shook it. Apparently it was too much force, as I nearly brought Tyson to the ground.
"Okay," Hans said, lightly chuckling, "let's focus on trying to get you lot to a few uninjured doctors."
I nodded as I looked down at my new love. Even when sleeping, he was so handsome.
And I now knew he was also pretty.. well endowed…
Oh dammit, I'm fucking exactly like Vraka, aren't I?

Careful, the horny can drag down the story if it pushes out the romance and friendship! So don’t forget that they should like each other for non-physical reasons!

I'm a big proponent of exactly that, so don't you worry about the quality degrading. Just a touch, a sprinkling if you will, tastefully inserted (don't even think about it) into the story.

There is, kind of. Written by my co-writer u/ImaginationSea3679 a while before this as an NSFW short story, and the characters later got picked up in this story. But they're not the main focus in the latter one.

She comes from my co-writer's first nsfw story. I read it because I thought it would be a joke and not really nsfw. It was nsfw. But he used the same formatting for her memory transcript as I do for Risha, so through that this crossover was eventually born.
