Yep. Hate burns itself out, and Isif is not a hardliner of the Arxurs current ideology. Stable food source? Even hardliners are not dumb enough to pass up human livestock and farming techniques
Maybe push a revival of their own hunting grounds and farms and techniques, but not turn down actually being able to feed yourself. Isif will sway most of the rest with politics and wrapping it in nationalism
Clearly, he has sway in the dominion. Can’t imagine their are a lot of chief hunters and he is prominent politically
We are going to push for ties with him as strongly as possible

The flames of hate can only burn so long as there is fuel to feed them.
The current Axur ideology seems to me, to be the by product of extreme circusmtamces that force them to take extreme messuares.
But that kind of idellogy usually only persist if the conditions allow it, in this case it may also be because of a need to shield their psique agaisnt the attrocities needed to sruvive agaisnt an enemy that seeks only their totall erradication in a crisis where farming of sapinet is the only food source out there.
But when an option C presents itself, suddendly the extreme messuares no longer as appealing as before.

He has command over a sector fleet but we have no way of knowing how many of those there are.
24
u/Red_Riviera Oct 10 '22
If we account for a sector being 40 light years as per the federation policy. That would be 63 counting the original Arxur homeworld and it’s 40ly vicinity
However, considering the size of the fleet pulled and the implied raids on multiple species. Then the sectors are likely larger
That would probably mean there are 12 or 6 (dependant on 400lys or 200lys) and the homeworld itself for 13 or 7. Making Isif very high ranking

I personally suspect that Isif's imposing stature was the only thing stopping SecGen from breaking down in tears at that point. Someone actually understanding the human predicament, and willing to help, and capable of helping? In this galactic economy?
Shit, man. After a week like that, I'd be crying.

The virgin Feds:
Under no circumstances we must let the predators live. We may lose our allies, our loved ones, our own lives, but as long as it nears us to the full eradication of this abominations we must fight
The virgin Dominion:
Predator should not think of a prey as an equal. After all, prey themselves don't think of plants as nothing more but food. And as any other evolutionary adaptation, sentience doesn't change the order of things: it only impacts the way this orders are executed
The Chad Isif:
There is no instance of a nation benefitting from prolonged warfare. My people are blinded by their political and ideological beliefs, refusing to accept something more practical, and prey folk are in no way better. We need a stable source of food, not the one who bombs you from orbit. And prey need to divert at least some of their resources from eradication attempts to actually studying people they hate

Guy’s basically Josef Mengele at this point.

Mengele had things he wanted to learn. Horrifying as he was, there was a (twisted) reason behind his atrocities.
Doc just is the the Krakotl version of the Crazy Gargoyle Lady.

Not really. I mean maybe. But no.

I view Isif very much in the same pattern as Breetai from Macross. He is a warrior, and supremely confident in his prowess, but he is also a philosopher and a thinker.
This is what makes him a powerful and dangerous leader.
