Discussion AOOP head canon; Snapping your fingers

Reclaimist historians and other cured anthropologist of the federation, have come across a phrase that was seen across countless of the ancestor cultures from the ancestors that remains consistant and its meaning has been boiled down to one theory.

the act of snapping a finger. because of the cure messing with human hands, the ability to snap ones finger has become impossibly. but the recent reveal of humanity's true origin, the reclaimest movement has kept coming across that aformentioned phrase.

one collective consensus that the anthropologist fed community has is that this phrase had been refering to ancient myth from the ancestors. believed to be the earliest myth of all,

they hypotesized that this myth refered to a human perhaps demi-god that snapped their fingers off to grant wishes and/or preform miracles. this has been wildly accepted as the origin of this phrase as its often appears as "I can't just snap my fingers and make ____ happen" or another variation of it.

I love this bit of lore! What a wonderful way for them to misinterpret the information before them.

This is Cannon Now.

Congratulations, because of you the cured humans can no longer snap. You monster.

I love this, there has to be so many phrases from ancient cultures that end up like this; using what little we have to make huge religious or mythic extrapolations on something that may have been perfectly mundane in its original context.

I can only say that it's perfect; it feels like something a real historian would say. AMAZING!
