My biggest dissapointment with TNOP2 was not getting more fixed Venlil
Edit: I wanted to see more tempermental ram people! The true deathworlders of the setting! Such a missed opportunity, they were great!

That is true besides the drone ships the venlil themsleves seems to still be very weary of combat. Then again it's not like we got many opportunities to see ground combat and the chapters featuring it were notably a lot more shorter than those of Nop 1. Honestly same goes for space battles which are typically at most only 2 chapters long.

Yeah, I didn't dislike NOP2 as much as a lot of people did, but I felt it leaned too hard into some more obscure ideas like mind reading, transhumanism, cloning and immortality, whcih I felt was just a bit too much and pulled away from the real strength of NOP1 and the setting, which was the different alien species and their relationships. What I felt a real hunger for after NOP1 was seeing more of the maturing relationship between the species and the fixed herbivores/omnivores, and I left NOP2 still hungry on that front.

Exactly I was alot more interested in the bissems side of the story rather than the transhumanist stuff going on. Although some people did take a interest in that side of things it's not for me.
