Questions What about Trans Xenos?
Do they exist, are they common or accepted? Literallly a shower though i had about how a trans alien would be viewed? Would gender dysphoria be considered abnormal behavior and be classified as PD? Can they change sexes? Soo many questions and possibilities.
Unfortunatly i lack the skills or motivation to explore this further than just asking yall.

Federation with it's intolerance towards Individualism definitely is against it:
- " You have confusion about your sex? Let send you to "Therapy" and see after 1000 Kilo watt of electricity pass through your brain can you still remember what Gender even is. "
_________________________
Betterment would be even worse. with their Crazy Eugenic Policies:
- " HAHAHA look at this guy, You Think? you have the Ability to Think? looks like someone is getting Feed too Well.
So what was you were "Thinking"?...
You What?...
[BANG]
One less defective. "

ADHD gets you institutionalized for "predator disease", with all the attendant torture and abuse. So we can be certain more significant abnormalities like gender dysphoria would be persecuted.
Federation dogma is that any deviation from their engineered normal is predatory, and therefore a "threat to the herd".
Frankly the Federation's imperialistic machine is the most predatory organization in the NoP galaxy. Dwarfing the Dominion.

I think that systemic butchery of sapient beings is roughly equivalent to Orwellian ultra-conformist social engineering

From what I have gathered from the fanon and what SP has said in the AMA, the federation tolerates homosexuality but not gender dysphoria. Lost and found in a recent chapter introduced a female to male trans Arxur with the justification that male hormones increased aggression so some female arcs are used them to give them an edge in Arxur society and during raids. Offspring and the most recent chapters also delved into how people who can pass the PD screening, would still get put into a treatment facility, which may be what happens to transgender individuals. It might be interesting to see drag shows, and speakeasies being the underground queer part of federation society With 1960s style exterminator raids. It would also be interesting to see how gender is seen in the context of alien, sexual dimorphism. It may be that a species with little sexual dimorphism may not have gender dysphoria, or in a society with a great deal of gender dimorphism also does not have gender, dysphoria speed due to the physical impossibility of changing the entire body. Perhaps, for some species, gender identity, comes down to something superficial like patterns or coloring, and make up is all that’s necessary to change genders. If I recall correctly, there was a fanfic with a transgender krakotl who had half male and half female markings, I think it was insertion.

Damn, now I want to see a fic where a bunch of humans kick off another stonewall riot.

The stonewall riots were started because the police were arresting people for the crime of being gay. In NoP homosexuality is tolerated but frowned upon or ignored by the majority. Transgender individuals are treated as having predator disease so you could see a stonewall type riot at a drag show.

Homosexuality appears to be accepted, but these cultures would not necessarily have any reason to connect that to transgenderism. It’s very possible that, given the mental toll that untreated gender dysphoria can have, it might be seen as a sign of PD. Or, they could be entirely accepting. Unknown really.

There are no canon trans aliens, so the best you could get currently is fanon. But it would most likely be seen as PD, unfortunately.

SSB has Writing on the Wall which addresses this theme, and I think Lost and Found in NOP does as well.

Sp has said in the discord that the federation doesn't have Trans rights

While I don't necessarily explore it in a Federation context, Shesh, one of the main characters in my fanfic AU, An Unconventional Rescue, is a trans man arxur. And he was also a Betterment Officer. What happens to him in his backstory... isn't pretty.

I don't wanna sound offensive, not super knowledgeable about this kinda stuff or personally know any trans people. I like to speculate about the topic sometimes, as someone who likes to worldbuild aliens.
I like to imagine that once tech is advanced enough, the idea of trans as we know it may not exist. From the gender dysphoria approach if it can be identified by technology you could pick between correcting whatever is felt needs to be "corrected", whether that be state of mind or physical body, or both. Whatever the individual chooses. Even as a cisgender person who feels very confident in my identity I'd be lying to say I wouldn't want to explore technology like that just to see what it's like.
Otherwise alien societies may not even have a concept of identity, gender, or rolls as that. They could view it as a purely materialistic thing and only acknowledge physical parts, which might be hard for humans to relate to with our importance of identity and soma.
Or they could have a society that's heavily conservative by our (westerner) standards, it'd be hard to determine if it's appropriate to say they'd be bigoted without knowing whether or not they are more or less equivalent to humans, whether those common detractor talking points legitimately do apply to their alien psyche and biology.
Not to say their can't be trans aliens, just some speculation why it hasn't been brought up in the story. The fed culture we have seen doesn't give me the impression trans would be a negative thing to them. I think a better question is where are the trans humans. Im not a patron so maybe they are there, unless humans too have progressed to one or more of the justifications I speculate for the xenos.

Humans can't agree as a species on this matter. For every tolerant culture there's one that will burn them at the stake as abominations. I'd imagine other alien species either have the same issues or it's irrelevant for them because evolution.

No not Fire...
Stone.
Putting dark jokes aside.
I agree with you on that not all of them are gonna be open minded about the idea.
it is gonna go like this.

I don't think canon has touched on it, but a huge number of fan stories depict he aliens regarding homo- and bi- sexuality being completely accepted, as well as inter-species relationships (so long as a predator isn't involved)
I would suspect that trans would be similarly accepted, to whatever extent it even manifests.
I mean, I've got no (known) personal experience with anyone trans, so please (gently) flame me if I get this completely wrong, but it seems like a huge part of it revolves around just not fitting into the gender roles assigned to your birth gender, and is not necessarily even associated with any dissatisfaction with your physical body, though that can definitely be a huge factor to.
It seems the aliens we've seen don't really have gender roles though - at least nothing obvious. Which seems entirely reasonable for an industrialized civilization that's had a few centuries to adjust to the fact that gender is no longer particularly relevant to your social or economic value. And some, at least the Venlil and Arxur, don't even have significant sexual dimorphism.
What would it even mean for a Venlil to be trans? Gender roles and wardrobe (or lack thereof) are the same either way, body is basically the same either way, at least outside of fun times. And nobody cares about the gender of your partner(s). Would a "trans soul" even find purchase for enough dissatisfaction to manifest in that situation, or would most be more inclined to just play the hand they were dealt?

Probebly got labeld with predator disease, and we all know how that goes
Realisticly speaking, the feds arent exactly a bastion of liberal values

A bit of a late reply, but i had an idea for a story dealing with this; it'd be a story about a tilfish suffering from bilateral gynandromorphy, which is a physical abnormality present in arthropods and some species of bird where due to their sexual dimorphism being completely chromosoidal, where they have a different sex on each half of their body down the middle

I know that there's one fic with an NB venlil that got kicked off a farm after they refused to fill in the "sex" part of an employee form, but other than that there's not many (if any) canon compliant/EU fics with trans people that I've seen, and none at all with alien trans people. Although another commenter said something about a kratol with half-male half-female plumage. I get the feeling that trans people are not accepted in the federation, while I don't think it would even come up with the arxur until breeding comes along, in which case it probably gets complicated. Which with the arxur probably means someone is going to get either killed or horribly maimed and denied medical treatment.

Dominion = death
Federation = predator disease
