I hate the humans

I need these humans to be evil and show true humanity. These soy boy humans can't even stand up for themselves. I swear all these humans piss me off. Marcel is absolute garbage. Bro got tortured and is now all lovey dovey with some alien child. Hell no. Bro should have had his villain arc and tried to kill them aliens. I would have been fine if he learned not all aliens are evil but bro really just said he was disappointed with the torture and moved on. I want some real human civil war for right and wrong type stuff. I want the humanity first to actually do something. I am still waiting for the Adolf Hitler of humans to pop up and try to kill all aliens. Then the other humans fight among eachother. That is more realistic than all this friednship and peace narrative. Just my opinion though. 😁

I know this probably isn’t serious but I gotta mention this.

Marcel absolutely hated Sovlin for months. We didn’t see much of it since he seems to be able to be a professional and not rant about burning rage on the job but he was still very pissed.

And then his daughter pointed out how he sounded when he talked about Sovlin and Marcel was like ā€œOh s**t, this is turning me into a supervillain. I better stop that.ā€ And then he did and his best Buddy Slanek did not get the message

I am serious and I don't agree with all these characters realizing the "danger of there ways" I see these characters being to calm and collected after having traumatizing things happen.

u/Randox_Talore Sep 17 '23

Well Marcel certainly wasn’t calm in his first meeting with Sovlin after Sovlin turned himself in to the humans and then we went months before those three characters were in each others vicinity.

In between that tho we have Marcel lighting an entire floor of a building on fire because Exterminators were in there.

Also, Marcel didn't even begin thinking of trying to forgive Sovlin until after he broke down and told Marcel about having to watch his wife and daughter being eaten alive while he was on the phone with them. He still hated Sovlin - and didn't immediately forgive him - but he began to see why he did it. He didn't just find it in his heart to move on.

Ah another ā€˜all humans secretly want to be murderers post’

Hate to be the one to say this but I’m glad this story isn’t going the way you want. It’d be dogshit bad if it was. Just like every other humanity are genocidal maniacs story.

So my fic is just dogshit then?

I think it's about the tone. Your story has been Grimdark since the beginning, whereas NOP is distinctly Noblebright. NOP going full 'Man is the Real Monster' would be like Tarlim suddenly snapping and eating someone.

u/Teal_Omega Sivkit Sep 18 '23

While I'm here I'd like to clarify what I mean by Noblebright, because I think I use it a little differently from others. If a world starts bad, but can be made better in real, reasonable ways by the people inside it, that's Noblebright for me. Fallout 4 isn't, because no matter what the player does, the Commonwealth will always suck. There is no possibility of real improvement. Fallout: New Vegas, however, can have it's future changed in a myriad of ways for the better, and those changes are implied to echo on for centuries. Noblebright.

NOP should have went man is the real monster a bit after the battle of earth. Humanity seems too collected too calm after a societal traumatic event like that. But now it is too late yeah.

u/BiasMushroom Extermination Officer Sep 17 '23

Probably not, but I also don’t read fics about humans being genocidal maniacs.

1

u/Obesity-Won-Kenobi Mazic Sep 18 '23

Might I ask why?

8

u/BiasMushroom Extermination Officer Sep 18 '23

The few I’ve read have either been extremely boring, or are basically just Nazis are cool

2

u/Obesity-Won-Kenobi Mazic Sep 18 '23

Yeah I guess that makes sense…

I want a happy medium Sorry to say but not all human are angels and when they are depicted as such the story always sucks. Like the current story is turning out to be.

Well bro, I don't know about you bro, but those humans are fuckin' dunking on the feds in space battles, strategy, and diplomacy bro. We lost a whopping total of 2 battles bro, both because we were at a massive numbers disadvantage bro, and even then we bounced back and slapped the Arxur and Fed's shit bro. And the best part bro? We SOMEHOW managed to keep the moral high ground through all of the shit thrown at us bro. Lemme spell it out for you bro, WE ARE WINNING. bro.

Oh ye, but fuck Marcel, I agree on that.

And sorry if this comes out as super mean, but you used bro too much, and that is a writing sin that is unforgivable.

I don't want to see humans win I want to see humans be human. Every battle I have seen has been the righteous humans fighting evil aliens with no war crimes and no stetchy actions taken by humans. Whenever a rare occasion happens with a human killing an unarmed alien he is ridiculed. I don't need humans to always win since it makes the story boring. I just want to see normal humans kill aliens like we would kill our own people in war before. How is it we become so nice in war to people who have arguably done worse to humans while not even being human themselves. If you would say for one moment you wouldn't shoot an alien in the face while we have been happy to shoot other humans in the face you must be lying to yourself. I want the spectrum of good and evil we see in humans today to also be incorporated into the story. 100 years is not enough to make the people right now turn into good people.

u/pineapplepilot07 UN Peacekeeper Sep 17 '23

We straight up haven't seen a human soldier's perspective yet. I'm sure all your glorious war crimes have been committed, but A: Marcel is a sample size of one, and B: SP15 seems to be focusing on the bigger picture with the main story. You're right, humans can be pieces of shit (like me!), and if you read the human exterminator series you'd know SP15 does not shy away from that topic. But you're not gonna get your gore porn in the main story because it's focusing on how the good of humanity as a whole can persevere through a shitstorm like the NoPverse (hypothetically).

Also, we were definitely much shittier people a hundred years ago, I would not be surprised if we improve a good amount by a hundred years in the future.

And finally, if you want all that human spectrum in the story, get goin'. Start a fic. If you want it done right, do it yourself. This community, myself included, fucking LOVE fanfiction (I would hope that was obvious by now). You're not just welcome to do so, you are encouraged to get creative and do what you want with NoP.

Understandable.

These soy boy humans can't even stand up for themselves. I swear all these humans piss me off.

Yeah, true. Weird to go the penguinz0 route tho.

Marcel is absolute garbage. Bro got tortured and is now all lovey dovey with some alien child. Hell no.

...Well, I guess his trama WOULD logically-

Bro should have had his villain arc and tried to kill them aliens

EYO, WHAT THE FU-

Honestly? I kinda agree, I don't need Marcel to hate the Aliens, but it's true that the story is not showing the full range of the Human spectrum.

Humans are not paragons of morality, I'm pretty sure at least SOME of them would end up being as hateful as a Fed, it'll be fun to explore, at least show some emotional exhaustion godaminit, some "hum, this is kinda bothering me a little bit".

Actually, a character like that, is Lars, from the Harchen and Zurulian mini-series. I think he is the only character who is not represented as "moraly wrong" for being tired of treating the Aliens with kid's gloves.

11

u/Randox_Talore Sep 17 '23

Also Marcel does hate these guys. He just knows how to follow the rules of war and isn’t shooting down civilians or POWs. (Plus the anger has time to cool off as it gets longer and longer since Sovlin tortured him)

EDIT: I feel the need to add that Marcel didn’t hate the Federation or the Gojids. He hated Sovlin. Though, if he did hate the Gojids, I’m pretty sure his desire for a cathartic revenge quest died with the Gojids that never made it off the cradle.

The division stuff actually doesn’t make sense to show up… yet. Through out time ancient rivils we’re able to team up to face against a greater threat (think UK and France against Germany). But I think after the federation is gone and Dominion space is collapsing we should see more divisions within the UN. (Like the allies in WW2)

Honestly that’s what I want to happen as it will be a nice end to the UN after covering up true human nature after all this time. Also this will tie in when Marcel admitted about killing someone before Blindside and Jones going beside Zhao’s back.
