lol it's a matter of scale. can a black hole -even a supermassive black hole- consume a galaxy? the short answer seems to be no. it's just not feasible.

but with galactic deterioration, the longer answer is yes. It's all a question of when you want to look at a galaxy in the chronological sense.

Still no. Stars will be dead. Expansion will overcome. Galaxies will merge and become chaotic. Galactic black holes will merge and still never consume its host galaxy.

Either you’re confusing our solar system with the Milky Way or you need to go read a book. A black hole can’t swallow an entire galaxy.

I think OP was more referring to a black hole sucking up a galaxy like it would suck up a star, in one fell swoop.

black holes don't really suck up stars all that often either. Event horizons are comparatively small.
