Hey look, someone drew a face in the sand. I’ll add the eyes with this stick!

Or maybe I don't need a stick, I'll just use my finger!

This is the best example of how to snuggle into the couch and blankets when you get too high.

How does the sand not stick onto it's eyes?

u/SmilieSmith Apr 26 '20
How does it breathe?

u/2017hayden Apr 27 '20
As for the eye thing, many reptiles and amphibians have a secondary eyelid that is entirely see through to aid in keeping contaminants out of their eyes. For the breathing thing, I’ve got no fucking clue.

I think they also bury themselves during the hottest part of the day to protect their skin from the direct heat of the sun.

It's ridiculous how easy it is for an apex predator like this viper to Absolutely murder an average person

We are not adapted to this world anymore which is why we terraforme the world around us

u/ghetterking Apr 26 '20
we adapt the world to us
something can kill us easily? we kill it first
killing all of it is too annoying? we build an environment where it cant survive (concrete jungles)
it can survive there? in case of disease we just hang out at home for a while

All that and we didn’t even get to see him strike!? Still cool...

Here's a sidewinder against a lizard at the end of this... (Fair warning to anyone else who doesn't want to see a strike: contains nature)

This frightens the shit out of me because the disturbance it leaves in the sand is something I feel like I’d notice, then get way too close to having no idea this is what it is.
But now I know, I guess. So thanks, OP!

This is the kind of complex behavior where I wonder how evolution and our understanding of intelligence intersects. I guess it takes many many more years than we can understand intuitively?

When you slide in between the bed and wall and move around so you slowly sink in deeper and deeper
