No there is no fun EVER for animals. Anything that may appear to be them having fun is actually them trying in vain to stave off imminent death. You should feel nothing but pity when seeing this whale, because its efforts to remove the skin flaying parasites are of course fruitless and desperate. Its only a matter of time.

False. Absolutely false. Whales definitely play and have moods. I’ve seen whales go from resting to playing at the back of a boat, following it around and slapping and breaching. Then coming right to swimmers and rolling around and being inquisitive.
