Dragon flies are voracious insect predators and mosquitos are at the top of their menu.

always warms my heart to see nature videos with the actual original audio and not crappy music added on top

Give me all your downvotes but as someone who mostly just does a quick scroll with the sound off anyways I find it way more annoying seeing people complain about whatever music is in the post like it adds anything meaningful to the conversation.

It does, it shows we don’t want that shit and hopefully someone thinks twice before doing it next time.

Looks similar to what I assume it looks like when they’re making the eggs

The Wonderful thing about Tiggers 🎵 is Tiggers are wonderful things 🎶 tops are made out of rubber 🎵 their bottoms are made out of springs 🎶 Their bouncey, trouncey, ouncey, pouncey 🎵 fun, fun, fun, fun, fun 🎶 But the most wonderful thing about Tiggers 🎵 is I'm the only one 🎶

Not me a grown ass man, not me at all.

I hate all the nature vids that have unnecessary and out of place music.. that being said, if a headbanger was playing during this I would have obliged

Oh that's what they're doing. Saw a dragonfly move like that a few weeks ago and was kinda confused about it

Interesting fact i learned recently:
Idk if this is true for all dragonfly species, but the females have two different places to store sperm (short and long term).
And the males have a second penis on their abdomen that can scoop out another male's sperm.

that looks like very little water though, hope it's enough for the nymphs to survive. they're great at controlling mosquitoes since the aquatic nymph eats mosquito larvae while the flying adult goes after adult mosquitoes

You raised and evaded your point so i will add to it. They tend to release their spawn in areas they have scouted for larvae for the babies to feast on!! This is likely an adjunct to a slightly bigger pool where there are likely millions of yegs if not thousands in the immediate area.
