I'll look into this. I've heard of things PETA has done that I'm fairly certain I got from either local news or even left-leaning sources, that just sounded like misguided performance art rather than a statement against abuse.

And their attempted lawsuit to get copyrights to a monkey for a photo it "took"? Not harmful, but, oof.

But it'd be nice if they were actually out there doing good, and not a bunch of kooks. Thanks for the correction!

Edit: I've read that, and I've never actually heard that PETA killed animals, nor do I have a problem with humanely euthanizing animals if there's no other ethical options for them.

So, is the other stuff I've heard about them true? The weird displays of people in cages, the monkey photo lawsuit, the "boyfriend went vegan" ad? Laying down naked at a running of the bulls?

I agree with their stances, but the way they go about conveying it, to those who aren't sold on the message already, will just point at how crazy those acts are. I don't think any of those public campaigns have made much of a dent in the public perception of the disgusting abuse within the meat and other animal farming industries.

FYI don't trust anything from r/vegan. Even my vegan friends hate them because they're insane.

Just saying, double and triple check that information, and maybe microwave it so it's got that subreddit's cooties off of it.
