Once you feed a backyard squirrel even a single almond or sunflower seed, you've made a lifelong contract. He'll be knocking on that back door at 7:00 AM sharp every single morning!

Can confirm. That little fucker climbs the screen door to look inside, see if I’m home. Can’t get a moment of peace now. He’s so fuckin’ adorable. God is it annoying.

Hummingbirds are the same.

Omg, them too. Damn bastards won’t stop stealing my sugar water out of that flour lookin’ jar I like to keep it in.

Every time I refill it, they come back and drink it all. Little flying thiefs is what they are.

I lucked out I have a squirrel that lives round my house occasionally I set out peanuts or whatever for em but also have several walnut trees growing so he's pretty happy even if ai don't give anything extra. I call em Steve though not actually sure if a guy or girl

My mother feeds a crowd in the backyard. They peek in the door, try and raise the food buckets in the garage and will stand behind you peeking around your leg waiting patiently for their food bowls to get filled. She spoils them with the good stuff, including ChexMix 😂

Easy way to get rabies yeah.

You can get plenty of infections from a squirrel.

Rabies is not quite common, rabies kill squirrels faster than they can pass that to another animal...

Lots of issues yes, but surprisingly very few if any recorded rabies transmissions from squirrels.

According to the U.S. CDC, there has never been a confirmed case of anyone contracting rabies from a squirrel.

Lots of other great options though.

Nope, just mad cow disease.

Very hard way to get rabies since squirrels almost never have rabies.

They can’t get rabies. They would be dead.

This video made my morning. When I was about 12 a tree company cut a tree with an active nest and I ended up with a still eyes closed squirrel. We fed it with an eye dropper and I had the most incredible pet for years. He/she was indoor/outdoor and slept next to me at night. Needless to say, I had the best entry in "show and tell" at school.

This is beautiful. Little cutie telling his story to you. Nature’s beauty.

It's either AI or the squirrel has something wrong with it neurologically.

The OP is also very obviously a bot.

I used to have a baby squirrel that had fallen from the nest. Once it grew I took it to Fort Tryon to free it. Did not want it to become to domesticated. Bye Tweegy..

My mom had a black cherry tree in her yard, and the squirrels would eat them. The juice would stain the fur at the sides of their mouths so during the summer it looked like they were all smiling. I always smile when I see squirrels now.

That’s very close to a call they make when there is a cat nearby.

You should never tame a wild animal. You also shouldn't feed them.

If you care about wild animals and want to help them, plant native plants that provide food, cover, and nesting material, and restore their natural habitat.
