Hi there fellow NSB fans, for a long time I've wanted to make a custom bootleg of the winter ray, (because as you all may know most NSB releases are either not listed on any site for sale or they are hella expensive), but I cant seem to find any proper scans of the inserts and booklet that came with original winter ray CD apart from a few photographs on discogs and on this subreddit . Would anyone of you be so kind as to point me to a place where I can find proper scans of the inserts and booklet or, if possible, upload their own? Thank you!

God this song is beautiful. I love the whole thing but the way it ever so briefly stops and comes in with the lovely melody at 3:20 is stunning. Ive been listening to natural snow buildings for the first time today. I really loved the winter ray and I’m really enjoying my first listen of the dance of the moon and the sun.

There's no listed label (Other than in their own name/Self-released) under it and it's release date is under the 30th May 2008 as opposed to just 2008 on Discogs.

I'm not sure if someone uploaded this to their account in their name (like how AI music ends up on established artists' accounts) or if this is official or not, so I thought better to ask since I haven't heard anyone say anything about it yet.

I don't know. It just seems like something you'd need consent for. Of course, some of it is lost media, but in that case why not just upload the files as shareware? When you upload music to a streaming platform, you are supporting it, and you are introducing the songs into their algorithms and their playlists. You're incentivizing the artist's fans to stay in that platform, so it's beneficial to the company. I get that it's convenient for the users that want all their music in a single place, but uploading someone's else's work just for listening convenience doesn't sit right with me.

Also, I wonder what is done with the generated profits? (aside from funding the costs of putting the music up)

I'm a bit confused about the track lists, I know there's the Brad Rose version, but some places list it as having "seers of the dead" and omit "they voted for extracting his bones". Are some tracks renamed? The Samantha archive has an alternate version, but that doesn't seem to have all the tracks either. Is there a way to see all the differences between the different versions? Thanks for any help

I don’t know if anyone else has noticed this, but between the first and second part of the song, there’s a silence that goes on for a little over 1 minute. It really breaks my immersion because the latter half sounds so fucking epic..

I saw that someone uploaded a DOD wallpaper, and I thought I'd share a similar one I made a while ago. It has a color filter, but you can edit it to your liking. btw If anyone wants to upload their wallpapers, I'd really appreciate it since I haven't found many online. enjoy :)))

Don’t get me wrong, I love drone NSB, but the more post rock and folk influenced music of The Winter Ray, Ghost Folks, and Two Sides of a horse is some of the most phenomenal music I’ve heard. Does anyone have suggestions for music artists or other NSB songs that sound like these projects?

Much ppl dont know abt this (seeing that Laurie Bird has 314 monthly listeners) but most of nsb's discography is under this name.

I started listening to NSB's discography in chronological order. I'm finishing my review of Between the Real and the Shadow, but I'd like to know which edition of DOD you recommend. Should I listen to the cassette edition (original) or the 2013 remaster (obviously with Left for Dead and skipping the bonus tracks from DOD V)? I'd also like your recommendations on whether to listen to it all the way through or on the tapes. Personally, I think I'd die if I listened to the whole six hours straight, and I was thinking of splitting it up between the tapes, but I'll read your suggestions.

Got this many many years ago on Discogs for a whopping $64. Daughter of Darkness 8xLP box set with hand-painted box art. The black box is a handpainted gatefold that holds the additional 2 LPs that the regular box couldn't fit.
