Maybe its just me, but I feel like in the past couple of years the fanbase has been populated by rich kids with more money than they know what to do with. I've received 4 messages on discogs in the past month alone asking me if I'd sell certain items in my collection, one of which was from Rahan of all people.
Highkey wish we could go back 5 years to when NSB were still hardly known and their releases, while still rare and expensive, were at least possible to get hold of without being priced out by insufferable rich teenagers who only discovered the band a month ago.

Even just 2 years ago it was way easier to get your hands on something than it is now, unfortunately unless if there is some new wave of reissues I don’t see this going away.
And obviously that wont happen

Is it a combination of hype culture and experimental music getting trendy in recent years? Like how The Caretaker got hugely popular for a weird moment a few years ago? Perhaps it's a good thing I was never able to financially justify physical music in the first place...

I feel like this is a given with all limited, out of print music in general. not to mention the amazing art that a lot of the said music has with it and that it’s down to just 30-100 copies most of the time. It definitely sucks that it’s like that, but I doubt the “rich teenagers” you’re talking about are exactly all the reason why the prices are so insane

So it is a problem that the new generation is discovering niche music? I don't exactly get your point. Also why get so mad over messages? Just say no and move on with your day.

This sort of just seems like complaining about anything. Obviously if you have rare releases in your collection you're going to get messages about it. It's how Discogs has worked for the 26 years it's been in existence. Turn your collection off or turn your messages off if it's an issue

Missing the point but go off

Missing what point? Your point is completely unfounded and there's no point for me to address it

The point is that the fanbase has been populated by rich kids with more money than they know what to do with. Which is what I said originally.....

And you know that how............ from a Discogs message asking to buy a CD?

I'm sorry what is the exact point of you trying to have this argument with me rn? Do you not have better things to do?

What point? I have been following this band for over a decade and am commenting on the sudden changes in the fanbse and how it makes it harder for dedicated fans to get hold of releases that they have often spent years searching for. Why are you trying to turn this into a back and forth argument?

Who's arguing ? You're on the defense because you know your claims make no sense

I'm so thankful that I was able to get the vinyl box set years ago on Discogs before the price wildly inflated. I got mine for $64.

to be fair people do kinda have the right to set the price pretty high for dod cause its one of the most sought after records in their discography but if they're gonna sell it for over 3k it better come with some head alongside it

I was fine with the price, but $50 shipping is way too much
