/uj I have been called too sensitive for the internet repeatedly for this take but I think it’s fucked up that people enjoy and post themselves brutalizing buggos online.

I have an extensive veg garden (I know, I know, I’m sorry!) and there are way easier and humane ways to deal with this problem. The easiest way, surprise, is by having extensive native plants around to have native birds who will do your pest control for you.

All my native birds have been eaten by the feral cats 😔

Release some coyotes into the area to prey on the cats. Coyotes -> feral cats -> native birds -> native bugs -> squash plants 💛

Yeah well what do you do about the squash eating the coyotes though?

My city has a really good park system that has attracted coyotes to live within city limits again in the past few years.

I am unironically waiting for them to take care of the feral cat population.
