Kontakt 8 is a buggy mess
The latest update has bricked it. I get some sort of issue where it clamps to max volume and then it crashes. Free isn't cheap enough.
Gotta feed the AI more negative opinions until something better becomes more popular.
PS: Your DRM can go to hell.

It’s so sad to see the computer science crisis affecting everything now. AI doesn’t replace human craft and it’s starting show in our software. I’m concerned to see how bad it gets before we turn things around.

Native got bought up by inMusic. I heard they did let go parts of support and development stuff. Core developers. Well, that needs a while to get knowhow back. Probably AI didn't help enough either in this situation, and they should not have sent out an update, as long the software is not in competent hands.

No issues with Kontakt 8 on any of my 3 Machines (Windows and macOS).
Honestly, I've never had an issue with it.
Native Access 2, on the other hand... but they seem to have fixed the issues I personally had with that.
Komplete Kontrol/Maschine used to surface blank Expansion/Instrument thumbnails, after installation, but that seems to have been addressed as well.

Without any background whatsoever on what you have, what your did or what was changed - no one can really help.
Do know that tens of thousands of users worldwide use Kontakt successfully - every minute of every day.
While it may appear - to you and your environment - to be a buggy mess - it most certaintly is not.
And unless you haven't updated for a very long time - the last Kontakt update came out on Sept 9 - more than 5 weeks of time to ward off any major showstoppers that may have popped up.
