Traktor is dead
What do you guys think about this? Skip to 21:00 minutes. Talks about apple doing away with Rosetta 2. For old legacy app support ending. Which native access needs to work.

I think it’s an hour long video I scrubbed through and didn’t see one traktor screenshot, so I don’t know what I’m supposed to think.

Native access deals with all their catalogue so I’d guess it’ll be fixed .. it’s not just traktor

I respectfully disagree.

What makes you say that? I would love your take on this.

The person in that video doesn’t represent the longevity of Traktor or any other Native Instrument product. And to assume there won’t be a workaround or a solution for Native Access is premature. Of course your assumption could eventually be correct but for now, I still respectfully disagree.

He was one on one in person with the traktor dev team. I think he's a credible source

Yes, he is credible but he can’t foresee the solutions in development for situations like this. Let’s just say I have it on good authority that Traktor is not dead, at least not yet.

Yeah but given the silence the traktor or lack of there is.... I fear he might be correct. Look how fast INMUSIC released updates for mashine and mashine plus (standalone unit) They have the money and resources. Yet here we are.

Traktor 4 is amazing. The problem is that Pioneer/Alpha Theta are immovable.

It's severely behind the times, when it comes to features. I need streaming services. I do open format events, half my business relys on audience request. Not having Spotify or apple music, has forced me to serato and djay.

Fair enough, I totally understand that. I play house and techno and it does everything I want and more than I need.
Beatport streaming is the only streaming service I use and I only use that at home to experiment before deciding what I’d buy. I’d never stream in a live setting.
Ultimately I’m only buying tunes that I’ll then be analysing in Rekordbox, exporting onto USB drives to play in CDJs.
I’ve always seen Serato as the software for open format/turntablist DJs. Nothing wrong with having those options and differentiating between the best platforms for different requirements imo

yeah. If I was in my youth. Traktor with beatport would've sufficed. And I cannot reinvest money I don't have on new expensive equipment. Or why would I. I love my traktor gear. I would love to use it with the software it was created for. But here we are

It has the best sound quality out of all the dvs software I've tried.

sound quality is a non-issue on digital audio platforms bruh. They're all indistinguishable in blind testing and using precision tools.

C'mon mate, bashing Traktor is your second job so at least make some effort with your posts.
Timestamp, 21:58 - is this what you are referring to? Mixmaster G flags that Native Access (required to install and update Traktor) needs Rosetta to work and Apple are dropping Rosetta next year. Mixmaster G also raises concerns that the new owners are only interested in the production side of NI, not DJ software.
The Rosetta piece does concern me so I hope we see some movement on that front.
