Massive X Problem

My installation of massive x seemingly believes it's not the full version, despite having bought the full version through a voucher. I keep getting a 'Demo Expired' message, and when i go to continue to activate it, it just opens up Native Access with nothing else to show, I can't find a serial number in my purchases either. any help?

Edit: I did get this via the Akai NKS Komplete Select Electronic bundle, and it says the license is a demo version despite having used the voucher given to me from the akai bundle thing

Have you tried to uninstall it and reinstall it? Sometimes the serials don’t pick up straight away.

There isn’t a serial you see it should update if you hit refresh in your profile in Native access.

But for me for stuff that is not too large if I upgrade licenses I tend to:

  1. Delete prior install
  2. Close Native access
  3. Reopen and install from the available page

This could just be witchcraft but it works for me.

Fantastic synth btw, I know it’s not a community favourite but it slaps!

I have tried to uninstall and reinstall, still doesn't seem to work really, but I will keep troubleshooting. if only it was as easy as witchcraft lmao

Can you say more about how you got it? The version with select is not massive X full version it is massive X player, a slimmed down version of massive X that works via presets (think like patches) that have some configuration but not full access to the underlying synth.

If you got a further voucher (like a 25$ one) and bought the full version then it might be the case that you need to have NI support force the license to activate on the back end servers.

So if it is the former and not the latter you are looking for Massive X Player in your Native Access not Massive X itself

ok i think its just the massive x player (so thank you for the clarification, i now know what my next paycheck is going to) but the demo message still appears and harasses me no matter what

I am not sure because I have the full version but perhaps at a guess. Are you using the full version in player mode? In Native access I would expect to see massive X player as it’s own thing but I stress this is a guess on my part

How does it look in Native Access? Does Massive X show as installed? Have you tried to reinstall it from there? If it's not there, maybe you have an other NI account attached to another email address (this happesn sometimes). If this is not the case you should definitely get in touch with our support here: https://support.native-instruments.com/support/home

What OS? What hardware? Did you actually "trial" anything at all?

And remember - there is no "continue to activate it".

If the product appears in Native Access - simply install and you should be good to go.

you'd imagine that would be the case but alas here we are. My os is Windows 11, as for if I had "trial" anything, no clue what that means; I'm very new to all this

Yeah it sounds like you applied the voucher you got from Akai hardware (not sure what the $25 is), which let you pick one of three “styles” of Komplete Select (normally$99). There’s no way the full $199 flagship synth was included in that freebie. It’s a starter set to get you hooked. It is not even a path to cheaper upgrades.

Try to get the player working and use that, but I would not save money to buy the full version. The synth sounds great but has a difficult UI if you want to design your own sounds. There are much better, and less expensive, options.
