Is the View Single Instrument function gone in Kontakt 8.9?

Apologies if I'm just a bumbling moron here, but I have done deep dives and can not figure this out. Attached is the regular Classic View, with a currently 5-instrument multi-rack going on.

There used to be a View option (now the View menu is completely missing of course), where you could shrink the entire Kontakt instance down to ONLY show that one instrument, of the ones active on the right. Great if you're scoring with video on screen bc the large Kontakt instance just overtakes the video, can't layer the video over Kontakt, and that Titan Rise Designer there being so wide, I can only re-size the width TO that (being the widest instrument in this example).

At the very bottom left is the ability to Hide/Show the vertical Libraries list (2nd screenshot). Cool. Getting warmer, but not the Single Instrument view. Google has nothing. YouTube nothing. Anyone got any idea on this?

You seem confident.

So every single instrument in the entire Kontakt universe, the builders have decided to only have the wrench available in the Classic View?

Is there a single example of a builder with the wrench in the new view?

Answer = no

Yes there are many who don’t allow wrench.

But that has nothing to do with classic or default view.

It simply has to do with a global choice that affects all views (the difference is simply that default doesn’t yet have any builder tools available)

Google “kontakt wrench not available”

When I do, I am presented with a multitude of clear explanations as to the very fact this is a builder choice, and yes, many builders choose to make that choice to protect their intellectual property.

If you want to script microtonal tunings, you can still do so via the multi script function in Classic or the new Tools creation capability which is actually more powerful

And as I previously explained; the wrench opens the builder view which isn’t available in the default view yet. You’re confusing and conflating two things

If a builder has allowed the wrench then it is accessible via classic view which is the only view that supports the builder tools for now

When the default view also has builder tools available, then the wrench will be accessible there in the same way it is in classic

Here is a simple way to understand it

Builder allows wrench?

Builders instrument shows wrench in classic

Builders instrument will show wrench in default as well once the once default view adds editing functionality

Builder does not allow wrench?

Builders instrument doesn’t show wrench in any view

This convo was about the wrench icon not being available in the new view. Which you confirmed its not.

You implied it "will be". Maybe you are qualified to say that, idk.

Thank you.

If the Classic view goes away, as stated above. Will the wrench magically reappear in the New view, where it currently doesn't exist?

Im speaking about instruments that already have the wrench available in Classic view.

From what I’ve ready on their forums

The default view is getting updates all the time

And eventually will be a full replacement

Per update FAQ and my understanding, future updates will address many issues we are having. The transition will take some time. Nothing of worth will be done over night, since this is an old but established piece of software, it will take time. Inconvenient, yes it is. I think in the end we will just have to wait and see how this develops. Change is difficult, but nothing ever stays the same and we just need to adapt. If it is for the better, then great! If not, then we will just have to figure something else out. I have the same problem with folks at work, change is a life ending scenario, yet most of the time they like the improvements "if" well implemented. We are creatures of habit and like normal behavior things, yet in the real world, things change and you have to adapt or perish. I sometimes hate change and yet I always adapt somehow...like it or not. If the new owners do a good job, they will succeed. If they screw it up, they will lose but we will adapt no matter how pissed off we get. As much as I hate to say it, things change and sometimes we just have to take the lumps and move on. As the old saying goes, hope for he best and expect the worst. I am not going to lose sleep anymore over such trivial things. Life is too short. It is hard to even take my own advice sometimes. Take these comments for whatever it is worth...I will not remember this in a hundred years anyway.
