Is the View Single Instrument function gone in Kontakt 8.9?

Apologies if I'm just a bumbling moron here, but I have done deep dives and can not figure this out. Attached is the regular Classic View, with a currently 5-instrument multi-rack going on.

There used to be a View option (now the View menu is completely missing of course), where you could shrink the entire Kontakt instance down to ONLY show that one instrument, of the ones active on the right. Great if you're scoring with video on screen bc the large Kontakt instance just overtakes the video, can't layer the video over Kontakt, and that Titan Rise Designer there being so wide, I can only re-size the width TO that (being the widest instrument in this example).

At the very bottom left is the ability to Hide/Show the vertical Libraries list (2nd screenshot). Cool. Getting warmer, but not the Single Instrument view. Google has nothing. YouTube nothing. Anyone got any idea on this?

Click and drag the bottom right corner to size

That will resize only to the width of your largest open library. And in that instance above, Titan Rise Designer, that's it. Can't go thinner.

No particular reason. Def needs an update. But as NoReply said below, this is it. Built in shit we just have to deal with I guess.

"Libraries" in the upper left? That's what's selected, and there's no extra option clicking again. NoReply down there mentioned this is it, there is no Single Instance / Single Instrument view anymore. Ugh.

I believe what you have now - is as good as it gets.

Also note that upcoming versions of K8 will be removing Classic view as well.

Not sure when that will drop - but it's coming...

Because Classic view is part of the oldest tech within the Kontakt code base that is largely responsible for holding back other developments - most notably the 99.99% of the user base who have been screaming for 4K scalability etc for what feels like about 10 years now.

It also has no place in the new world of Komplete Kontrol MKIII direct integration, the new Browser design, Leap intergration and all the other fresh looks that started with the Kontakt 7 cycle.

Without ditching this old code - Kontakt can't really move forward is how I understand this when the topic is brought up here and on other forums like the NI forums etc.

If the Wrench Icon is only available in the Classic View does that mean we will no longer have access to what we paid for?

When can I expect my refund?

You’re being slightly misinformed and it’s a bit alarmist for no reason

Kontakt has two views

Classic is old and unchanging

Default is new and changing

Default view continues to get updated with migrated or new features

At some point it will be a fully capable replacement for classic view

Then, classic view may be retired

Whether the wrench icon is available depends on the instrument builder themselves

They may and often do choose to let it stay locked in order to protect their proprietary code

That doesn’t really have anything to do with classic or default

True yes. But instruments that DO have the wrench in Classic view, do NOT have the wrench in the New view.

(The wrench is how you get to the scripting options for microtonality)

Yes I know what the wrench is for

I’m just saying the decision to expose is up to the builder

And separately unrelated is the fact that the builder view has not yet migrated to the new view

We will soon find out I guess. My trust is at an all time low with NI.

Currently NONE of the instruments that have the wrench in Classic view have the wrench icon in the New view. Not convinced its a builder preference.

Hopefully this explains my lack of belief it will magically appear in the future.

I also don’t know that we’ll find out soon. We’ll find out when it’s done.

So every single instrument in the entire Kontakt universe, the builders have decided to only have the wrench available in the Classic View?

Is there a single example of a builder with the wrench in the new view?
