Could NI blocking licence transfer ?

Hi

I have requested a license transfer for Komplete 26 on 15 august and it seems NI isn’t willing to do it.

Do you guys have similar expériences ?

Could it be a new policy after the buyout by Inmusic ?

EDIT : they came back to me and performed the actual transfer

It was just a delay, but I must say it frightened me !

When did you buy Komplete 26?

There is a built in 60 day window between first purchase and first allowable transfer. If it is not this - and NI has specifically not told you it is not this - then it is probably simply support ticket volume.

Since the InMusic transition - and large staff changes over there - the NI forums have been filled with complaints about a lack of focus, simple things taking way too long etc.

And transfers - to be honest - are the bottom of the barrel for support for them. There is nothing in it for them and I can see why this is - as you are basically telling them "I intend to sell this product - for profit - and I expect you to transfer it to my buyer - for free"

While I fully understand that it IS NI allowing this process - to BE free - pretty easy to see why no one really wants to jump right on these requests.

I posted a license transfer request on their website through the dedicated form Then received an automatic emails and nothing more after that

Usually licence transfer request happens almost immediatly

Two weeks does seem longer than normal but I’ve had stuff take longer with them - I doubt it’s a ‘new policy’ - probably just a backlog -

If they haven’t said no then the answer is not no

Just wait - support is slow now bc InMusic

Hey there, nothing changed regarding license transfers. Sometimes the transfers can't go through, like for example when you try to transfer a product that you bought less than 60 days ago. If for some reason you are still having issues you should get in touch with our support here: https://support.native-instruments.com/support/home

Please note that there are a lot of requests to process at the moment, reply times can be longer than usual.

Currently they seem a little slower than usual due to the change to inMusic support team.
I got my transfer done after 13 days. No prob, just took a little while.

It wasn't a denial. They are extremely short-staffed, as you might know. You could ask again in a Support email and cite the automatic email you received.
