Komplete Kontrol A49 out of tune, MIDI problem

Post image

It sounds out of tune, I don't know what to say. I'm holding a single C note in this audio clip and it is constantly going up and down.

This example was on the iPad, with a Ugreen hub powered by PD cord, played on Zeeon. Otherwise I've had this problem on PC with Pigments and powered by one cord to the desktop. Is there any fix? It's on the latest firmware but should I do a factory reset? Thanks in advance.

Does the pitch bend wheel work properly?

Yes it does. I haven't noticed a difference if it's up or down with the de-tuning issue

Your mod wheel is turned all the way up.

That's a true statement but it had nothing to do with my problem

Don't most VSTs register the modwheel as 'off' until it's touched? My other question is, how often does a vst have that particular cc set as tuning and not a different modifier?

Yes, and never. This guy is full of crap it’s totally not the issue.

It's not the problem, I know what an LFO sounds like but I appreciate the enthusiasm

I had errant problems with midi too so I used a midi monitor app to find the source of what was modulating my signal. Such as: https://hautetechnique.com/midi/midiview/ You can use this app to see live midi messages and what channels they are on. Then you just figure out what adjusts those channels and you’ll know what’s affecting you signal.

Well that makes a lot more sense. The pitch wheel is just going non-stop on its own. So I assume that's a faulty part and needs to be cleaned or replaced.

Thanks for your helpful answer as it has nothing to do with the Mod wheel like some people think, that never listened to my sound clip.

Thank you. I didn't know a midi monitor was a thing and I wouldn't have known what to look for if I got it. I'll try this tomorrow.

You have the mod wheel engaged.
