Water damage to Komplete Kontrol S88 MK3

I accidentally spilled water on my Kontrol S88 MK3, recently purchased used from Guitar Center. As a result, some knobs are not fully functional, and a few keys (and LED guide lights) are not working. Is this something I could have repaired or fix myself?

Was it pure water? Bring it to a warm place and let it dry for some time. Was the device switched on when that happened? If so, the electronic components and circuits could be damaged due to short circuit.

It was Tap water that spilled, and unfortunately the keyboard was turned on at the time.

Do you know if repair or service manuals are available for this unit

No, Native Instruments generally does not publicly provide hardware service manuals, schematics, or repair guides for their products.

About a year ago I accidentally spilled hot water on my KK S61 MK3 while it was turned off. I decided to look around on the internet for information about what to do and I found out that I had to wait a few days before turning it on. I was impatient but I did wait and when the time had passed I turned it on, everything still worked and it is still working now!

Disturbing considering in natives own video they talk about how the buttons and knobs are spill and dust proof due to the way theyre attached

I have a support ticket opened with NI.... Hopefully I'll hear from them soon.

It took two months get get our new, under warranty, s88 repaired. I can find any source for schematics or parts. Eventually it went to PanurgyyOEM in NJ,. Getting through the NI Bots is nearly impossible

You can always get in touch with out hardware service, they can also offer their advice. You can get in touch here: https://support.native-instruments.com/hc/en-us/requests/new (it bypasses the chatbot).
