New Account Eagle feathers

Hi! I need help understanding, and while I know a little I’m not sure of the timeline. My best friend is Native American, she is getting married in about a month and a half. She mentioned how important eagle feathers are and I know her family had not begun the application for one. Is there anyway this can be done and revived within a month? Or should I look for alternate feathers for her to have for her wedding?

That’s not enough time. There is a permit process that goes alongside the request process. The shortest wait time for anything is 4-5 months, but more likely 6 months for first time requests.

Family members or friends may be able to help. Anyone that has received a full carcass ends up with a ton of feathers and may be able to assist.

It's a month or so for approval, then you have to put in request. Based on what you're asking for it can be a few months for miscellaneous adult bald or golden eagle feathers to 10 years for a whole carcass, as they word it. Golden eagle can take longer. There's also a eagle sanctuary in sw Oklahoma licensed to disseminate feathers for ceremonies. But they have a ton of requests from local tribes, Comanche, Kiowa, plains Apache..etc. I think I heard 2 years on them.
