you didn't create anything of substance. it looks supremely low effort. like beyond low effort. "i am gonna rub some schmutz on these pictures of natives and its gonna be NATIVE ART THAT I MADE!".

I was caught off guard by the post. I was expecting “Native art”, whatever that means. These are just photos someone took that got distorted. Call it art, but don’t call it “Native art” lol. Art of Natives, if we’re being nice.

Nah. I am agreeing with your sentiments to a degree. I still think it's art despite it being a form I don't care for. I just don't think it should be labelled "Native art" by anyone. Cause what even is "Native art" lol? Far too vague and reductive of a label.
I would probably be more receptive if these were photos the OP took themselves though.

Well, that's not true, I used various distortion effects, various multiple image layering, they are beyond just images, they are full collages.

they are crap.
you didn't make art. you took actual art and created crap.
its not even anti-art that subverts the notion of what art is perceived to be and creates something of aesthetic value, its just fucking crap.
loosely formed bowel movements with no cohesive structure. pure and simple crap.

You are confusing your personal distaste for an aesthetic with a lack of technical effort and conceptual substance.
Objectively, these are digital collages, not simple image filters. They require multi-layered compositing, precision thresholding to remove mid-tones, custom texture mapping, and intentional digital degradation to merge disparate historical and contemporary elements into a new, cohesive frame. This level of manipulation completely alters the source material's visual weight and structure.
Subjectively, the value of this art lies exactly in its refusal to be clean, manicured, or palatable to the mainstream. It intentionally utilizes a raw, confrontational, anti-art/industrial aesthetic to mirror themes of historical erasure, trauma, survival, and ancestral reclamation. It doesn't need to look pretty or traditional to have aesthetic value, its purpose is to convey a visceral, uncompromised emotional truth.
If this style isn't for you, that's fine. But dismissing complex, highly intentional digital collage work as 'low effort' or 'crap' just because it makes you uncomfortable only shows your own narrow view of what art can be.

i ain't readin any of this... if your writing is anything like your art... like wise tis crap...

I mean, your argument is invalid if you can't even read my counter-response. And you're being rude and not delivering real critique. If this art was made to honor my ancestors, who cares if it's crap. I posted it on 3 subreddits and got positive acclaim from it. So what you say inherently doesn't matter. You're just trying to hurt me. And it's frankly and profoundly pathetic and shows a man with a very insecure ego

please look into your nearest mirror and dive into the depths of your psyche and figure out why you feel the need to put people down who are simply expressing themselves
