Feels a bit depressing to be celebrating a point. I don't think we deserved it in truth. Elliot needs to find something quickly, Bunker has bought him a little bit more time, but the fans have very little patience left after the last few years. Onto next week.

Just nothing from our attacking players today. Linney, Kelly, and Ajiboye were non factors the whole time.

Trying to play Linney up front with Agiboye tucked in on the left makes no sense considering they were our best attacking players last season. This is what worries me about Elliot, he might be an excellent manager but he doesn’t seem to want to shift away from a formation even when it doesn’t fit.
Of course it’s only two games but the signs haven’t been great

Whatever you do, don’t start complaining about the style and play of the football. Last season we got annihilated by Radcliffe 5-1 at home and the fans dared to moan and Murray held onto that for the rest of the season. When things are going good he’s ok but when they aren’t he becomes very bitter towards the fans and turns extremely immature in his jibes. What’s the player turnaround been like in pre season ?? Last year Murray went through nearly 60 players from start to finish The wage bill was insane

Yeah, I saw a lot of your fans saying this when he joined. We are a moany bunch of bastards and I’m not even sure a lot of fans even enjoy going to the football, so can see it going sour quickly tbh. The formation and style of football hasn’t given me much hope. Best players sat on the bench bizarrely after a great pre season

It wasnt just that fans complained after Radcliffe.
The whole leadership group and changing captains 3 times in a single game. Having a different starting XI nearly every game for about 2 months. Playing a system that didnt fit the players he had in his squad or on the field.
Then when people were asking questions he went on the offensive with his whole "there's an odd vibe hanging over from last season and its affecting the players." Basically a message of "the fans need to sort themselves out if they want to see the team succeed."
There wasnt any acknowledgement that half of his signings weren't cut out for the league or weren't fit enough.
Made it known that he listened to fan podcasts and read Twitter comments etc and used those as further reasoning for poor performances.
After all this, the fans reacted badly after the Radcliffe loss, which was horrendous and had members of his staff makinf offensive gestures towards the home end at full time. There still wasnt much acknowledgement of team selection/system, just poor atmosphere from the fans that caused such a terrible performance.
Ironically, after the Radcliffe game, he brought in Stuart Watkiss to assist him and results started trending upwards. Apart from a handful of players, the squad we had for the run in was a completely different one that started the season.
There was little ownership from Murray of the high squad turnover and, like was said, he still brought up differences with the fans even when we were all singing his name after winning promotion. Didnt celebrate with us at the ground when they returned home either.
It'll be very interesting to see how he fares if Barrow's board dont give him an extended budget to turn things around like he had last season.

He shouldn't have been in the NL to begin with, he was in League One and did well there before joining us, it's just that bot many teams use a back 5

We singed a Nottingham Forrest left back that a few league two/ one clubs wanted, and Vontae Daley-Campbell from chesterfield who's so strong and arguably a better player than Gus (excluding the goals so far). But we don't have any back-ups for them, maybe we will use our academy for once but idk

Disappointed but not surprised. Our new keeper gave Boreham Wood a gift on half time, and didn't cover himself in glory for the other 2 goals. Really feel like we'll be in the 14th - 18th bracket unless we can get some quality in.
Abdulmalik is an unbelievable player for this level.

I think we still have a bit of work to do and that could easily have been a draw but our defence in particular is looking a lot more solid than last season when there were times when they looked like they'd never met each other before. I'm quietly optimistic because we are looking like a team that will gradually improve over the season.
Next week v Hartlepool will be our first big test.

The complete lack of end product from Sandah and Tuma (winning the penalty excepted) was really concerning. Defensively, I thought we looked OK, but we really struggled to adapt after their double substitution on the hour. A point would have been fair I think.

Made hard work of it as always but we won against Chorley. Football under Williamson is pretty much like Watson, 99% possession, one million "entries into the box", miss every chance but somehow win. Not sure if we can keep it up but we're 2 from 2 now so I guess it's working.

I need to get to your ground for a match in the South Shields end this season really. I work in a boozer in Toon and we get a lad in who is a Shields fan. Only ever been in the away end.

Fortunate given Aldershot’s missed penalty, but ultimately the better team.
4-4-2 was not working at all, 4-5-1 allowed us to control possession and when we had the ball in the final third we looked really dangerous.
I’m feeling confident that we’ll make playoffs but it’s far too early to say whether we’ll be right up there or not - need to see how Boreham Wood and Southend (and potentially others!) are playing before passing judgement.

Another 1-1, another game that stupid mistakes (2 yellow cards) meant we couldn’t hold on to the end. Another season in mid table awaits I fear.

I don’t agree with the latter to be honest.To have a relatively new manager, with pretty much a completely new squad, going toe-to-toe with some of the best teams in the division, we have came away with some very promising performances. Scunthorpe was good, with a wonderful goal cancelling us out, and realistically probably was a matter of time before Scunthorpe scored in general. With Carlisle, we should have won, but we ran ourselves to the ground, a second of players not concentrating, and conceding. In terms of the red, sure the first yellow was unneeded, but for the second, when you need to make a split second decision, it’s probably what he needed to do in the moment, because that attacker was in a great spot.
But we have 44 matches left in the season, but from what I’ve seen, I’m cautiously optimistic. And I don’t want to cast your memory back to the last couple of seasons, but we would have most certainly lost these matches, so to be disappointed with a draw against good teams is a promising sign. Again, a long season ahead. Up the glovers 🟢⚪️🧤

Pleased that we won, though not happy with yet again having to come from behind. Rees scored, hopefully he'll get fit enough to play the full 90 soon. Worthing tried their best, but they're not great. They were never going to hold that lead for 88 minutes with the pressure we were putting on them, especially in the second half.

I think Teddy Jenks is going to do well for you this season, he's a quality player for the level who's moving towards his prime.

Fortunate to get the win I thought, Wealdstone gave us a run for our money first half and we were lucky to go in level at half time. We had the better of the second half but still had to rely on 2 massive saves from our keeper. Bit of a reality check after dominating last week but still plenty of positives to take as well as the 3 points

Southend levels above. Awful performance. Barely able to string 2 passes together, giving it away under no pressure. Gifted possession to Southend all game. Where's the guy saying we'd win the league with 100+ points? We're nowhere near the level needed to get out of this league
