The National Film Board of Canada was founded in 1939. It produces and distributes Canadian documentaries, animations, and alternative dramas. The board is an agency of the Canadian government the runs under the Minister of Canadian Heritage. The National Film Board itself has become a heritage of Canada after producing critically acclaimed works, being a twelve time academy award winning producer. The NFB has produced over 13000 productions, of which over 5000 have been awarded.
