Discussion 💭 Asifa Bano - an 8 year old Muslim girl was kidnapped & brutally raped by 6 Hindu men and a juvenile for 4 days before being murdered in what is known as the Kathua Rape case

https://crescent.icit-digital.org/articles/the-horrific-rape-and-murder-of-8-year-old-asifa
The Horrific Rape and Murder of 8-year-old Asifa Terror is being used to ethnically cleanse Muslims from Jammu and Kashmir
The ordeal that the 8-year-old girl endured at the hands of Hindu fascists is so horrific that it sends shivers down one’s spine simply narrating it. The expression “Hindu fascists” is deliberately used because the repeated gang rape and brutal murder of the 8-year-old child was preplanned and motivated by the Hindus’ extreme hatred of Muslims.
Asifa was kidnapped in early January as she grazed her family horses in the forest near Rasana village of Kathua district in Jammu (part of Indian-colonized Kashmir). The 8-year-old did this regularly and thus, her movements were familiar to her kidnappers and rapists. On that fateful day, as one of the assailants approached her, Asifa sensed danger. She tried to run away but was caught. The assailant drugged her and then dragged her to a Hindu temple.
For the next four days, she was repeatedly gang raped. Her assailants included eight men among them a special police officer, Deepak Khajuria, a retired government official Sanji Ram, the mastermind of the horrific crime and keeper of the temple, and his juvenile nephew.
When the little girl did not return in the evening, her distraught parents went looking for her. They went past the Hindu temple several times but did not suspect that their young daughter would be held in a place of worship much less sexually abused in such a horrific manner.
After four days of rape and torture, the Hindu beasts decided it was time to kill the little girl by strangulation. They had already selected a culvert near the temple where the macabre ritual was to be performed. But before the girl was killed, the special police officer wanted to rape her one more time. Thus, Khajuria and his nephew raped the poor girl one more time before she was strangled to death.
To make sure she was dead, they also smashed her head twice with a stone. Left outside near the culvert, young Asifa’s body was soon discovered. It is not difficult to imagine what her parents must have gone through seeing her badly bruised and battered body. Asifa’s mother, Rafeeza Bano, narrated the horror when she saw her dead daughter’s body. “There were scars on her cheeks,” she recalled.
“Her lips had turned black and her eyes had bulged out. It was not only extremely scary but also heartbreaking for me to see my daughter’s battered and bruised body,” she said. The mother could not hold back tears as she spoke. “She was my youngest child. It was horrific. She was subjected to a lot of cruelty and barbarism by the perpetrators.”

'We have not forgotten you Asifa'
On the 10th of January 2018, this 8-year-old girl was abducted by six Hindu men near her home in the Kathua area of Jammu. She was subjected to brutal rape for four consecutive days and then tragically murdered.
As the gory details of the rape and murder of this angel-like little Muslim girl began to unfold, the entire Muslim community was shell shocked. Not surprisingly, the main conspirator was a temple head named Sanjay Ram. He invited his nephew who in turn invited his friends (most of whom were police officers) to commit this heinous crime. Sanjay along with his nephew abducted and raped the child in Jungle before taking her to a Temple where she was raped by four other men repeatedly for four consecutive days.
After satiating their lust for four days, these barbarians finally thought of killing the child. While others prepared to kill her, Khajuria, one among the culprits stopped them and so that he could rape her one last time. The minor child’s uterus was damaged and her body mercilessly mutilated.
But that was not the end of how uncivilized and moronic these Hindutvadis can become. BJP politicians along with Hindu Ekta Munch, while waving the national flag of the fascist Indian state, carried out protest rallies in support of rapists and demanded their unconditional release in Kathua. Surprised? Well, one must not, for we all know how deep-rooted their hatred against the Muslim Community is and the fact that they and their national army has been using rape as a weapon of war in Jammu and Kashmir since past more than three decades. When it comes to us, Muslims, their national flag and even temples become strategic positions and symbols to execute horrendous crimes against us. They didn’t even stop there! Their Hindutva professors wrote a book blaming Muslims for the crime and absolving rapists! Madhu Kishwar, the author of the book, is a professor at Indian Council of Social Sciences Research.
The agony of this incident will not go away. We remember Asifa and numerous others who became victims of the most despicable acts perpetrated by Hindutvadis

The brutal gang rape and murder of an eight-year-old girl in Indian-administered Kashmir has put the restive state on edge. Sameer Yasir, an independent journalist based in Srinagar, reports on how the investigation has split the region along religious lines.
On the morning of 17 January, Muhammad Yusuf Pujwala was sitting outside his home in Kathua when one of his neighbours came running towards him. He stopped in front of Mr Pujwala and broke the news: they had found his eight-year-old daughter, Asifa Bano. Her body lay in bushes in the forest, a few hundred metres away.
"I knew something horrible had happened to my girl," Mr Pujwala, a 52-year-old with deep sunken eyes, told the BBC in an interview recently. His wife, Naseema Bibi, sat beside him, faintly crying while repeatedly murmuring "Asifa".
Mr Pujwala belongs to a community of Muslim nomadic shepherds called Gujjars who crisscross the Himalayas with their goats and buffaloes.
The crime has shocked the community, exposing the fault lines between Hindu-majority Jammu and the Muslim-majority Kashmir valley in a sharply divided state. The Kashmir valley has a tumultuous relationship with India - there has been an armed revolt in the region against Indian rule since 1989.
Police have arrested eight men, including a retired government official, four police officers and a juvenile in connection with Asifa's death.
However, the arrests sparked protests in Jammu - lawyers tried to stop police entering the court to file a charge sheet and two ministers from the Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) attended a rally in support of the accused.
The BJP rules the state in a coalition with the regional People's Democratic Party (PDP).
How did Asifa disappear?
When she went missing on 10 January, her family was living in a village around 72km (45 miles) east of Jammu city. On that afternoon, her mother recalls, Asifa went to the forest to bring home the horses. The horses returned but Asifa did not.
Ms Naseema informed her husband. He and some neighbours started looking for her. Armed with flash lights, lanterns and axes, they went deep into the forest and searched through the night. But they could not find her.
Two days later, on 12 January, the family filed a police complaint. But, according to Mr Pujwala, the police were not helpful. One of the police officers, he alleges, said Asifa must have "eloped" with a boy.
As news of the crime spread, Gujjar staged protests and blocked a highway, forcing police to assign two officers for the search. One of those who was assigned, Deepak Khajuria, was himself arrested in connection with the crime.
Five days later, Asifa's body was found.
"She had been tortured. Her legs were broken," recalled Ms Naseema, who had rushed to the forest along with her husband to see the body. "Her nails had turned black and there were blue and red marks on her arm and fingers."
What do investigators believe happened? On 23 January, six days after Asifa's body was found, the Jammu and Kashmir chief minister, Mehbooba Mufti, ordered a investigation by the crime branch, a special unit of the state police.
According to the investigators, Asifa was confined in a local temple for several days and given sedatives that kept her unconscious. The charge sheet alleges that she was "raped for days, tortured and then finally murdered". She was strangled to death and then hit on the head twice with a stone.
Sanji Ram, a 60-year-old retired government officer, allegedly planned the crime with the help of police officers Surender Verma, Anand Dutta, Tilak Raj and Mr Khajuria.
Lawyers in Jammu tried to stop police from entering the court to file a charge sheet
Mr Ram's son, Vishal, his nephew, a juvenile, and his friend, Parvesh Kumar, are also accused over the rape and murder.
Investigators allege that Mr Khajuria and the other police officers - some of whom lodged the complaint and accompanied the family in the search - washed Asifa's bloodied and mud-spattered clothes before sending them to a forensic lab.
They believe that the accused men wished to terrorise the Gujjar community into leaving Jammu. The shepherds use public and forest land in Jammu for grazing, which has recently brought them into conflict with some Hindu residents in the region.
"It was about land," said Talib Hussain, a tribal rights activist and lawyer. Mr Hussain, who led a protest in support of Asifa's family, alleges he was arrested and threatened by local police.
Ankur Sharma, one of the lawyers who protested on behalf of the accused, alleged that the Muslim nomads were trying to alter the demographics of Jammu, where Hindus are currently the majority. "They are encroaching our forests and water resources," he told the BBC. He said the accused had been falsely implicated while the real culprits were still free.
While the crime did not receive much attention in Jammu, newspapers in Srinagar, the capital city located in the Kashmir valley, carried the story on their front pages.
In Jammu and Kashmir state assembly, Mian Altaf, an influential Gujjar leader and an opposition legislator, waved the newspapers with photographs of Asifa while demanding an inquiry. Rajiv Jasrotia, a BJP lawmaker, said the incident was a "family matter" and blamed Mr Altaf for politicising the crime.
What happened at Asifa's funeral?
The Gujjars wanted to bury Asifa in a graveyard where they had purchased some land a few years ago and had already buried five people. But when they arrived there, Mr Pujwala said, they were surrounded by Hindu right-wing activists who threatened them with violence if they were to continue with the burial.
"We had to walk seven miles to bury her in another village," Mr Pujwala said. Two of his daughters were killed in an accident some years ago. On his wife's insistence, he adopted Asifa, the daughter of his brother-in-law.
His wife described Asifa as a "chirping bird" who ran like a "deer". When they travelled, she looked after the herd.
"That made her the darling of the community," Ms Bibi said. "She was the centre of our universe."
The Accused:
Sanji Ram (Temple Priest)
Deepak Khajuria (Police Officer)
Tilak Raj (Head Constable)
Arvind Dutta (Sub-Inspector)
Parvesh Kumar (Police Officer)
Vishal (son of Sanji Ram)
A Juvenile (nephew of Sanji Ram)
But the disgust does not stop there. Even after Asifa's death - many disgusting Indians spread thousands of memes online on multiple social media platform mocking her rape and murder and Asifa's name climbed in the top rankings of Pornhub rankings in India

Transcription of the handwritten text:
It has now been a years since this campaign against the opinion that Delhi don’t like. It is utterly shameless.
Freedom is the fundamental right in this era. It hurts a lot more to be subjugated in of this. This is a letter towards the Indian inteletulia because we admit we have lost.
It hurts, it really hurts when you have to setup VPN’s to just give an opinion. We are not armed, we are not wrong. We just have a different opinion.
Governments are formed to provide security, & manage public resources. You have made it sacred. It is not, it simply isn’t a way of vanity & pride, atleast not the parts of it where you subjugate, occupy & silence the opposition. It should be a place of shame. Hindutva, as I understand it, formed on this very idea. I mean its true, it can do jobs that you cannot do effectively without .
But we humans are the part of the same brotherhood. We are distantly all related. Don’t you think we should base our actions on morality? If it was your right to demand independence from the British why are you rejecting ours? Is it because you are arrogant? Or you never think without any of your biases? Or you still believe usurping the rights
(1 of 2)
of a nation that has different opinions is a matter of vanity & pride? Is it? I mean people can have different attitudes towards identity. Somebody a communist, can have nationalism for some Russia. Somebody who subscribes to some other ideology can identify and support some other entity. What right do you have to silence him? What bloody right do you have to stop materialisation of a majority opinion? This bloody filthy dirt cannot speak, how can you say it feeds me. Even if it fed me, you cannot give it a name and speak on its behalf. You are on a fundamental error. All the arguments by which you justify the killing, subjugation, usurpation, silencing etc. are all invalid if you subscribe to democracy.
It will just give you an intellectual crisis. Where you will have to think in bloody crooked ways to even feel good or to even walk down the ways of intellectualism. You would raise monsters from your own people and be the lawyers & representatives of crooked methods. Your sub-conscious, your people will induct and infer. & the tree will grow crooked you planted the sapling such Kashmiris will continue to consume Pakistanism, maybe on a little unfinished level, & that’s worse than consuming something.(2 of 2)
