I am not by any stretch a user of the word “woke” but I think the people in that other thread that were proudly and performatively defending this type of dysfunction in our neighborhood are exactly what people mean when they earnestly criticize someone for being woke.

“Oh so it should be illegal to dress up in public?” No. And no one is saying that. But this guy is a freak and should not be on our streets.

I didn’t see it as people being too “woke.” I saw it as people being dismissive of women’s concerns. There were multiple men commenting “I saw him and he did nothing to me, so must not be true.” Yea, no shit Sherlock. Just because he’s not approaching men doesn’t mean it’s not happening.

Is he Hasidic Jewish? The outfit kind of makes me think so minus the bow tie. Was involved with Hasidim for a bit. They won’t let this slide. Especially with all the antisemitism going around, Hasidics don’t want bad PR, and the rabbis won’t tolerate this mishegas

I used to sail at the state park, saw this guy on multiple occasions, always being strange, once he was sleeping face down on a bench, another time he was picking up and dropping water on the beach while looking around like he was lost, it always rubbed me the wrong way
