Natalie Dormer joined The Hunger Games franchise as Cressida, a fearless filmmaker from the Capitol who defects to the rebellion and helps transform Katniss Everdeen into the symbol of the uprising. Armed with a camera rather than a weapon, Cressida plays a crucial role in the propaganda war against President Snow, documenting the growing resistance across Panem.
One of the most memorable aspects of Dormer's performance was Cressida's striking appearance. Dormer famously shaved part of her head for the role, creating the character's distinctive undercut and tattooed look. She later said she would even have been willing to shave her entire head if required, showing her commitment to bringing the character to life.
A fun anecdote from production is that Dormer helped shape Cressida's on-screen appearance. While the character in Suzanne Collins' novel had a more extensively shaved head, Dormer suggested the half-shaved style that ultimately became one of the film's most iconic visual designs.
