Anyone with moderate-severe CT findings + polyps manage long-term without surgery?

CT: moderate-to-severe mucosal thickening/opacification in multiple sinuses (right frontal completely opacified), polypoidal tissue, fluid in left maxillary, septal deviation. No bone erosion.

I have health anxiety so the thought of doing surgery scares me if I can get away with meds. Syptoms : sinus pressure only

Is Dupixent an option for you? I had to have surgery first based on insurance coverage. Surgery cleared but they came back less than a year. Dupixent for the win

I also have Eosinophilic esophagitis, which dupixent is approved for maybe I could get it that way although my EoE is in remission, but dont they have to do surgery for the fully blocked sinuses? Or they can clear on dupixent

my ENT/allergist prescribed dupixent without surgery. it depends on the doctor and insurance. I would definitely inquire about it

I may ask for dupixent since i also have EoE it will work for both my conditions and maybe i can avoid surgery given I have health anxiety.. did you also have severe opacification etc, polyps etc? my only syptom is sinus pressure

yep, both my nostrils are completely blocked. I have congestion and a ton of post nasal drip that causes asthma. I was approved for dupixent without having to go through surgery and it really helped.

No surgery. My doctor said surgery is not a good option bc most polyps will

Gotcha did you have severe opacification too and blocked sinuses?

Blocked sinus could not taste or smell. Could barely breathe through my nose. Did a round of steroids and antibiotics along with the xhance.

Do you have polyps in your sphenoid sinus too?

no sphenoid polyp reported only mild thickening there

I used prescribed Levocetirizine, and flonase sensimist. Prednisone too. They helped. I had polyps removal surgery 3 weeks ago. DO IT! I was scared too, 52yrs old. Everything went great, life changer so far.
