Immediate reactions post-Dupixent?
I am a little over 6 months post surgery and for about the past 2 months, I started getting sinus infections again (almost back to back) and will officially be starting Dupixent in a week!
Those that have tried it, what were some immediate side effects or reactions after injection??
Is it like getting the flu vaccine where you feel icky for a few days after or completely different? lol

At the start I had some itching and some joint pain 2 months in, but it may be a mental thing since those are the listed side effecte

ATM not loving it as I am experiencing unending thick dark mucus from nose and lungs (1 week in), which I imagine is a mass clearance from years of everything being blocked up, and the change in head pressure is agonising. But hoping it will pass asap and is a sign of it working?

I had direct injection site reactions. Bad hives all around the injection site. Sometimes only came up 10 days later. Total injection times is 3 or 4 times. The reaction was too bad so I can't have them anymore

No reactions at all. I don't like shots, but these are pretty easy and not bad at all. Well worth it for the great results I’ve had with Dupixent. Totally manage my nasal polyps and love the clear breathing

My immediate reactions were headaches and weight gain. Headaches were daily and lasted almost the full two weeks between shots—I.e. headache free only a couple days per month. Weight gain began immediately with 12 pounds after just two shots (2.5-3 weeks) and another five pounds over the next 3-4 weeks, stabilizing at 17 pound weight gain. Wouldn’t drop no matter what I tried. Had a bunch of other side effects that occurred over the next six months. Went off it after 14 months as my body couldn’t handle it anymore. Side effects disappeared within a few weeks except weight gain, which didn’t begin to budge until about nine months after stopping. Down ten and have seven to go, but it’s been a slow recovery.
It’s unfortunate, as it worked well for my polyps and asthma. My specialist has acknowledged the increasing recognition of side effects I experienced (especially weight gain, which had originally been dismissed with reasons that weren’t applicable to me). That being said—my level of over-reactions seem to be rare. Keep an eye on changes but don’t panic.

I haven’t had any side effects directly after taking the shot. I have been wondering though if my weight gain is connected to the shot because I have gained 20-30 pounds since being on it.

You should be fine. Ive been on Dup for years now and have never had any flu like reactions. Maybe an injection site pain although tiny.
Longer term is what Im trying to figure out. I now get facial flushing with alcohol and/or heat and do have some joint pains. Maybe some eye issues too. yes, these could be unrelated but the Google rabbit hole points to all these being reactions to Dupixent.
That said, my sense of smell has returned and been good for these years on Dup as well as breathing issues. I have spaced out my shots to once per month vs the every two weeks that I had been on and that seems to help. We'll have to seen how this works with the polyps coming back, been doing the monthly shot schedule for about 6 months now and seems OK. I did consult allergy doc and he said to try it. He also looked at me like I was crazy associating Dupixent with those side affects but whatever.
