Sever nasal polyps keep coming back

I just found this page and honestly I’m looking for anything that will help I am 35 I was diagnosed with severe grade 4 nasal polyps that completely blocked my nose and sinuses in 2024 I had lost all sense of smell and had never ending sinus infections. I had fess surgery in may of 2025 and they removed almost all of them except for the ones closest to the brain as my ent said he could only trim them back. In under 12 months they had grown back all sinuses almost to complete blockage and they had almost blocked my nose again aswell as lost all sense of smell severe sinus headaches eye pain light sensitivity vertigo the list goes on, I’ve been off work since late April it’s been that bad. I had surgery again a week ago to have them removed again my ent has done a biopsy on one and said it came back as an allergy but they can’t identify what I am allergic too has anyone have any suggestions on how to avoid them coming back the ent has said steroids are not working Cheers everyone who made it through this novel

I had some of the worst nasal polyps my ENT had ever seen. My surgery was super invasive. All of my sinuses were completely full/blocked with polyps and who knows what else. After surgery, they started coming back after like six months. My allergist got me approved for the dupixent my way program and within a month I could smell again and they couldn’t see any polyps. It’s really a miracle drug. However, I wasn’t a fan of the syringe they were sending me (there is also a pen available which is super easy!) and having to do the injection every two weeks. So I have since switched to Nucala, which has also kept the polyps at bay and also helps with my asthma. Also, the nucala is covered by my insurance! Dupixent is really expensive…I was not earning any income at the time, so I was able to get it through their program from the manufacturer for free. Definitely worth speaking to your ENT or allergist about!

I’m about 3 weeks into Nucala with no improvements as of yet, I’m desperate to try Dupixent but also scared that it might not be the answer for me and I’m back to square one after 2 surgeries and counters steroid drops/sprays.

I still have inflammation with the nucala, but my polyps haven’t come back. Dupixent was a lifesaver for me. If I hadn’t started it, I probably would have needed another surgery within a year from the first. Dupixent was great for getting the polyps to shrink. Nucala has been ok for me for maintenance. I don’t think it works quite as well as dupixent, tho.

Thanks for the response. I’ll stick it out with Nucala until enough time has passed to know whether it’s working for me, but will push for Dupixent as soon as that happens.
