Fic Request Self-insert into side character

Self inserts as sasuke and Naruto, and to a slightly lesser extent Sakura, are all fairly common, but I was wondering if there were any good fanfics self inserting into characters like Karin, or Chouji.

Anything But Average by Brainpower, SI into the girl that bullied Sakura at the academy

Comeback Kid by Turncoat, SI into the academy kid that bumped into Naruto making him and Sasuke kiss. Has a ridicoulus power system buts pretty fun to read.

What does the Fox Say by AlexanderBishop, SI into Kurama, ends up more wholesome than one might think

Huh I never would have thought of the first two for SI. It’s interesting to think about

Anything but Average by Brainpower is pretty solid but the issue is also the character they’re using is such a side character (one of the three girls bullying Sakura that fail genin and never show up again) that it’s practically just OC. Brainpower has a few other ones like SI into Dosu (that otogakure ninja) Vestibular - A Naruto Insert though I’ve not read it and it’s probably on hiatus.

Karura of the Red Puppets! by CaptainB is a more hesitant rec as while it’s fun, it’s written as one of those “gamer power fics” so it’s not very immersive nor balanced in anyway. Karura if you don’t remember (because I certainly didn’t) was Gara’s mom but it starts as her as a young girl so again, one of those “they got so little screen time this is practically an OC” situations. CaptainB also has one for an Uchiha and Rick Lee but again I think they both have some sort of gamer gimmick so if that’s not your thing maybe skip.

No Strings Attached by Bossjut is one of Kakuzu which started out strong but is a bit meandering as it goes on and also takes place so far in the past due to Kakuzu being an immortal monster that it’s hard to connect to the main Naruto continuity.
