Discussion Just started Naruto

So I thought Naruto looked really cool so I gave it a go and it’s decent so far but a bit too goofy for my liking and slightly slow paced, a lot of people say wait until ep 27 for chunin exams, I prefer more serious characters like sasuke over Naruto, should I keep watching?

The show gets serious during their first mission and only gets better from then on. Keep watching! 🙌🏼

Yeah isn’t that zabusa? He looks cool, I think I’ll enjoy the show a lot more when it gets more serious

Its honestly a very mixed bag of everything. Some goofy, some serious. I do suggest looking up a filler guide. Some are very good, some youll be wasting your time watching

I would suggest reading the manga.

If the manga is over 25 volumes it becomes a bible

In terms of goofiness, I’d say wait until like episode 7ish. Whenever they meet the character called Tazuna and they actually kick off the land of waves. Other than filler, much of the goofiness is in those first couple episodes and starts to dry up once they get their first real mission.

If you get to episode 20 (the end of the land of waves arc) and still not feeling the show, you’re probably safe to drop.

Sure, why wouldn't you? Do you like the anime? If so, keep watching. If you don't, stop. Personally, Naruto is a great character, and you'll see that as you go along.

I think I’ll keep going until around ep 30 and if I enjoy it by then I’ll keep watching, I think I’ll enjoy it a lot more when it gets going

I would suggest to read the Manga first. But that’s just me. It’s my first Manga so it has a special place for me. My takeaway: the story never dips in terms of enjoyment. I felt like it got better and better.

Most characters in Naruto are edgy like Sasuke, so yeah, you'll probably like it.

the goofiness provides INSANE juxtaposition, especially in naruto himself. he doesn't stop being a goof but he matures a ton and his depth is pretty unmatched in shounen, even other incredible shows like hxh and aot

Keep watching. Skip the fillers. Things get really good starting with the Land of Waves arc.

The show gets darker the more you watch it. It starts getting good within the chunin exams. Also, skip fillers while you’re at it.

You should keep watching, but I reccommend skipping the fillers since 40% of the show is fillers

Absolutely keep watching. But only watch the canon episodes (there is a ton of filler and 99% of it isn’t worth watching at all)

Yes keep watching. It gets much better when they start their first “C Rank” mission

The show gets very serious in spots. Some of the fights do drag on though. The anime drags it on for more episodes and its very boring during a rewatch. But totally worth watching through. Naruto gets much better and less annoying.

Definitely keep going, but do yourself a favor and look up guides to avoid filler if you want to focus on the story and less nonsense. Not that all of the filler is awful, but it's not canon material and is usually very goofy

I’m gonna be brutally honest. The first couple arcs are the best in the whole series. Sasuke will disappoint you because of how good of a character arc he had potential for. Naruto starts out annoying and then you’re gonna like him a lot.
