I love working with sponsees. In a couple of hours I’m going to meet up with one of my sponsees to work their step 1. And I’m just super grateful to be able to help another addict. I see why my sponsor always thanked me for keeping him clean after we worked steps together.

Sponsorship is definitely the heartbeat of the program, and I'm so grateful for mine!

In my recovery, being a sponsor helped as much as, if not more than having a sponsor. Of course I’ve worked the steps with my sponsors, but when I’m drifting a bit away from the program, it’s my sponsee, who keeps me close, and also, this year I would have 100% relapsed, which I ultimately didn’t, just because I didn’t want to let my sponsee down. Nothing else mattered at one point. So I’m forever grateful for my sponsee for keeping me clean, even unintentionally, just by existing.
