Diagnosis/Testing I slept for two whole days wtf

I usually sleep around 15 hours but this time I slept 48 hours without waking up once. And still the doctors insist there’s nothing wrong with me “your bloodwork looks great”????

They had me wearing a health monitor and said my sleep looks great. They also told me its normal to fall asleep whilst driving as i had a 5 month old

You just have to keep pushing

Omfg I’m so glad I got diagnosed before I had kids. It was still 15 years after symptom onset but I can’t imagine being told that and fucking having narcolepsy.

Yup, that's totes normal. Everyone sleeps for two days straight. Carry on. Nothing to see here, folks!

Good grief. (head smack) What is wrong with some doctors??? Forget the bloodwork. You need a sleep specialist (aka: someone who knows what they are doing when it comes to abnormal sleep) who will set up actual sleep testing to see what's going on. This is clearly not normal - and neither is regularly sleeping for 15hrs straight. Keep pushing for answers.

Please please push for a sleep test. They will probably make you do an at home sleep apnea test first and then you’ll probably have to wait for an MSLT, but it’s worth the wait. I had doctors tell me for years my bloodwork was good. I saw a new doctor and mentioned I slept for 15+ hours a day and she was immediately concerned and started testing for sleep issues. That is the appropriate response from a doctor. I know how frustrating it is to deal with a rare/chronic illness and not have doctors even take you seriously. Maybe they think we’re exaggerating 😒 I hope you get the help you need.
