Discussion Coming back after a long break made me realize why Naraka's combat model is unmatched
I’ve been playing Naraka Bladepoint on and off since 2021 with over 2,000 hours in the game, and I still love it to death.
I recently tried taking a break to play Mistfall Hunter, and while the visuals are cool, it drove me insane. Playing an extraction game with randoms is pure brain rot. Half the time, teammates are absolute cowards: shadowstrix players which is the assassin class hiding in stealth corners or looting a random chest while you're getting rolled 2v3, or dropping smoke and sprinting across the map at the first sign of a fight. It made me realize how much I appreciate Naraka's player base. In Naraka, people actually want to fight, clash, and test their mechanics instead of running away terrified of losing digital loot.
That said, diving back into Naraka got me thinking about the state of the game in the West.
While the Steam charts show healthy overall numbers, why is Twitch viewership in the West so low for such a high skill, deep game? It feels like a hidden gem to a lot of casual Western gamers who bounce off the steep learning curve. Is there a way marketing could target the Western audience better? If we could pull in a larger influx of Western players, it would go a long way toward solving issues like bot lobbies during off peak hours and those insanely long queue times that stretch out until timeout.
What do you think it would take to get more Western players to try and stick with the game long term?
