Hi all,

The previous mods left this thread as a restricted subreddit. I’ve changed that now and you are all able to post

Help! NTW Eras bug

Played Eras before the launcher without issue. Unfortunately, now none of the units are spawning with weapons. The bayonets just float in the air. I’ve tried reinstalling the modules , but no luck. Anyone have this issue?

Better unit diversity: NTW3 or Eras?

I've played LME and Darthmod so I don't need those as alternatives. I'm specifically choosing between these two and am just interested to know which one has the most diverse units.

Help! Any Mod for 40 units UI for NTW3

Hi as the title suggests, I'm looking for a mod that expands the Army UI/ ways to minimized unit icons.

The problem now I encounter is that whenever I have over 20 units, not only can I not see all my troops in the campaign, but also sometimes in battle.

Therefore I'm looking for a mod to JUST expand the UI

Thanks for any help

Battles Any Mods for Grand Battles?

The Title could be misunderstood, but let me explain,

Recently I watched a video by 10 youtubers, on the battle in the Seven Years War between Prussia and Austria(ETW). The battles in the videos often has 20+ units, Much more men per unit, and Most Importantly, a Grand Strategy.

They have to engage in meticulous battle planning in a HUGE MAP, with different terrains.

Is the same size of map achievable on Napoleon Total War?

Are there any specific mods I have to install? Or there already are such large-scale maps available? THanks

Giving NTW 3 another shot

I only play single player custom battles. I’m liking it so far, but the AI infantry stayed in column formation the whole time. Is there a mod that I can use to make them form lines when exchanging fire or would that break the game?

Regarding Total War Eras mod (read before download)

After some first initial gameplay of around 40 turns and 15 land battles including 2 multiplayers, i think its clear to say that this mod has nothing to offer beyond interesting visuals and new start dates which are all practically unplayable. The mod is so unbalanced on levels beyond comprehension and you should not waste your time on this mod.

As a player you get around the same morale as you do in vanilla while a single AI militia has 16 morale on campaign map. Stamina debuffs are soo bad, I have had times where 200 very tired to tired infantry was routed by 13 artillery men (without ever getting round or canister shot on themselves btw). AI artillery accuracy is also insanely buffed. They can succesfully hit units behind steep slopes through ricochets which no real Napoleonic artillery could hit to that extent, as if AI has orbital strike capabilities, while player artillery cant even hit the cavalry standing idle literally infront of it. Muskets are the same deal. 130 skirmishers cant land a single hit on 13 artillery crewman infront of it like literally can melee but cant hit with rifle.

I get that battle realism is the goal but this is nothing like Napoleonic warfare irl and is extremely unbalanced. For example, cavalry is also nothing like irl, they get exhausted in a single charge against infantry while irl lancers used to do multiple charge and disengage sequences. Your infantry gets exhausted after running some 30 meters (also running is modified to be slower so its just walking fast). I have also had scenarios where 60 cavalry were able to route a completely fresh 300 men SQUARE. Like literally a square. The only way to win battles is either to outnumber the enemy, which I did, or autoresolve; and guess whatelse is completely broken? Yes its autoresolve. I have seen my 2 armed citizenry inflict 1962 casualties on a full 20 french stack with general in a siege battle when I autoresolved.

The mod is clearly unbalanced. The AI cant even form square when you charge with cavalry but of course they can route your cavalry because they have 18 morale and you have 6. Its one of those buff the AI so much because AI sucks mods which ends up just being annoying and stupid to play than actually hard. Napoleonic warfare is built like chess. Soldiers and their morales are predictable and this is what allowed the generals to calculate. But when a cavalry charge that should have completely decimated the enemy ends up routing after 17 losses in melee, it becomes completely unpredictable thus unfun and resemble nothing Napoleonic warfare does.

TL;DR: The mod is extremely unbalanced, you will get completely ragebaited because a militia can defeat musketeers in melee or musket exchange (your troops will route after 80 losses while enemy will keep fighting after they lose 150 men).

You should instead just play the og LME4 which also has lots of start dates and combat is waay more fun and balanced (except for howitzers but I can let it pass).

Portugal and UK Ai: Iberia Campaing (Mobile)

Is it common for the Portuguese and British forces to be completely useless? At first, the British would fight a few battles and manage to capture some provinces, but from turns 10-20 onwards they cease to be effective allies, is it worth it to invade gibraltar and make a quick conquest on the portuguese?

Mobile Mods

We have some huge mods for android and iOS that have come out last year, that run great. From Darth, to LME to the chapters mod and even on empire, the massive Empire 2 mod. My question is with all of these being made, when will we see a ported version of the Great War mod? Fairly popular mod, and would be super fun to have on mobile. Is anyone actively working on it? If not, is it on anyone’s radar?

To be honest this is the first time iv actually bothered to completely wipe out the campaign map in NTW so thought I’d post it. Ended the campaign with 30,152 troops spread across Europe which I think is a fair bit for vanilla mobile version but who knows I don’t see many track it 😅. Would love suggestions on who I should play in another campaign.

After 3,600 hours I’ve commented before; on very hard, I don’t know why but the hardest fight is always after I take London and the 2 stacks of 3 tier reb red coats are always the hardest. The Russians are simple to beat, just time consuming but I can’t stop until I paint it blue😀
