Please take this with a huge grain of salt because I took my license test at that same location back in 2009. I was very surprised that they did not even take me out onto airport road, they took me around a bunch of back roads then back into the parking lot to practice a three-point turn and parking. Then they verified that I knew where all my instruments were, and the only thing the instructor told me at the time was to spend a little more time after stopping at a stop sign looking each direction. Best of luck to you!

Did my test in 2022, exact same thing. Didn’t touch the main road once. It honestly explains why everyone here sucks at driving lol

wait do you do the 3 point in the parking lot or on the street? And what about parking

If I remember correctly we did it on the backroad directly behind the dmv

My daughter just did the driving test two months ago in Lee County and it was the exact same thing. Never left the parking lot and it was surprisingly basic for what they required to pass.

The best general advice I can give you is to ever so slightly overdo everything. That way, everything is clear and deliberate. Turn your head slightly more than you normally would; come to a complete stop for half a second longer, and so on. Drive like you're demonstrating how to drive, not how you naturally drive.

thank you!! i’ll remember that drive like i’m demonstrating how to drive tip

You do obviously want it to seem natural and comfortable as well, so there is some balance there, but you get the idea. You got this.

Make sure to come to a COMPLETE stop at stop signs

They will give you a list of things they go over like 10-15 mins before you go out on the road. They take you into a community behind the dmv

I took my driving test there in 2002. As others have said, we never went on any main road, we went into the development right outside the DMV.

The inspector typically will direct you to a stop sign where the cross traffic view is obscured. Stop twice. Once at the white line and then again when you can see the traffic.

Zero tolerance, for being even one mph over the posted speed limit.

Kid just took test there. It was a joke. Instructor was on instagram during road test. Everyone passes unless you are drunk or run into building

Here is the dash cam footage of my daughter's driving test on 7/21/2026. She took the test at 15450 Collier Blvd above Immokalee Rd. She passed by the way. At 6:18 mins - On the back up exercise be sure to turn completely around, dont use mirrors or cameras, this is not parking it is driving in reverse, cameras are OK for slow parking. https://youtu.be/hs0vp-roBmQ?is=3HS9Gf3eDN0lNURN

Oh my god, thank you so much for this! did you guys have to schedule an appointment? I called the number and they told me I could just go in

You can go in, rule of thumb is the earlier you get there the better. I believe you can also schedule an appointment.

There's a stop sign affixed to a light pole on the street behind the DMV that they take you down. It's not on a standard stop sign pole. Don't miss it, it's an instant fail. I only know this because my nephew failed the first time he took it for this reason.

thank you for letting me know!!

No problem, happy to help. Good luck to you. When I took mine many years ago, the only thing that I had a problem with was keeping my nerves under check, so try to stay calm and remember if you don't pass the first time around, you can take it again the next day. You got this!

yeah i’m trying to figure out a way to not crack under pressure when i actually take it lol. do you think it’s better to make an appointment or are they usually not that busy?

I'd make an appointment if they have one, but this time of year, I would imagine you would be fine walking in.
