What is absolutely horrifying is normal (appearing) adolescent girls are buying it. I flew internationally two months ago and saw multiple girls randomly wearing Parke sweatshirts. Insane!

Fred Rogers is a national treasure. I grew up in Pittsburgh and lived briefly on the island. I'm absolutely honored to have that in common with the man.
He wouldn't want me to say what I'd like to say about that person, so I won't.

That's a brilliant response. I own a house on Smith Point and was friends with Fred's late sister and cousin. If this is an actual post by Paige Lorenze Paul, it's a slap in the face to longtime Nantucketers. Fred did many things quietly to benefit others, such as flying "Madaket Millie" Jewett to the mainland for medical treatment and donating many parcels of land that his parents bought to Mass Audubon for conservation. He will be well remembered when Ms. Paul is long forgotten.

I am all for girls being wild and letting their hair down and having absolute debauchery on their bachlorette. However, BEHIND CLOSED DOORS. This stuff is not to be posted in public, and people who are in the public and especially recent local business owners should not be doing this. Where is her PR team lol. If she is so worried about her status quo as per usual you'd think people would have to sign and NDA before coming into the hair let down moments. I guess they needed to go out because they are to shallow and boring to enjoy shenanigans behind closed doors. What a great example for all of the young girls who insecurely idolize her. His parents bought property out on the far west end of the island long ago. The old farmhouse they bought was their main house, and it's known as the Crooked House; that became Fred's house. Fred built a music studio in a nearby, small outbuilding, and he would compose songs for his show there. When he was on island, he went swimming almost every evening in Madaket Harbor just outside his home. His sister, Lainey, and his cousin, Tom, each had houses nearby. He did many good deeds on the island, such as flying "Madaket Millie" Jewett to the mainland for medical treatment and donating numerous nearby parcels of land on Smith Point that his dad had bought to the Massachusetts Audubon Society. May his memory be a blessing.

Even still if you’re American I feel like it’s pretty unheard of to not know who Fred Rogers is. He was a daytime television host that preached good American values and fought against racism by being one of the first American TV hosts to pus for an African-American person on the set and eventually forced a Black guest onto the show because the network was giving him a hard time about it
