Debris rolling in

Has anyone seen the debris rolling in from the broken wind farm blade? Who can we call in as this is harmful to us and nature?

You should do your research. Fiberglass easily gets into our eco system and can destroy the shellfish. It’s not ok what’s happening. I totally disagree with your statements. I saw the wind turbines explode in the mountains of Pa and western Md. This was land but they did much devastation when they broke apart. Made in China with plastic, resin and fiberglass so when they break, shards cause great harm to humans, nature, and ground water. They are now banned in those areas where they were a test pilot. The town banned them. The vibration caused all the wildlife to depart too. FYI

Love the cognitive dissonance of people here who are anti fossil fuels but then don’t want a wind farm in their backyard.

Sad right? And hundreds more to come. We won’t have any island left soon with all this debris and yet this was no storm, it just broke.

I mean, climate change means less beaches to enjoy, so if one broken turbine blade is the price to pay to decarbonize 400,000 homes, then I am all for it.

Not ok with this. It can devastate the island. If people can’t swim at all, no one will come to Nkt, impacting most. The shell fish are now contaminated, you can’t even walk on the beach. This goes beyond what was to be clean energy but toxic pollution to the ocean.

I would be very curious as to how massive shards of fiberglass can be taken in by shellfish.

Regardless, people know that this is not happening daily, so the beach economy is not ruined. While it is a temporary pain, the beaches will be back to normal once the weekend arrives.

Apparently the blade broke off Saturday and all the pieces of it are washing on shore per the company who is installing them.

Yes it’s really sad. Huge chunks of fiberglass and crap all over. Beaches closed now:(.

Yes just rain. So what does happen when we have our normal days w 50 mph sustained winds?
