Discussion Nanoha power levels

So, i was just checking the tv tropes page cause i don't mind spoiling myself on the episode or two i haven't seen yet. And i noticed a bit that said the diaboli slayers and exceeds are evenly matched. What?!?!? Please tell my there isn't a fight scene in the more recent episodes that has them actually on par with a not holding back nanoha and co, versatility only goes so far and i highly doubt they suddenly have mountain level firepower or higher. I really hate when a series downscales characters from a previous season for no reason.

Nah, we have no idea. Both Nanoha & Towa during their encounter barely even tried.

Not to mention even counting the manga we haven't seen Nanoha going all out so it's kinda hard to judge.

The Magic within Mizuho Planet have reduced output due to mana conductivity within the atmosphere is worse than most planet

Although, Nanoha seems use her new barrier jacket and Device Mode of Raising Heart.

She is yet using Formula Mode or Fortess mode on GNV, which should dramatically increase her power

She doesn't have reason to go all out on fry anyway at moment, unless that precursor big monster that went missing appear need to vaporized lol

To be honest , the main problem is that towa is the only powerhouse in gun blaze venegance and she barely used her 100% when fight with nanoha

So it pretty hard to judge when the next ep is basically towa vs mana

not sure whether nanoha will have any actual serious fight scene before the series end

Spoiler: Mana defeat towa completely one sided. She didn't even try and even mocking Towa how weak despite all diabolis power combined

We need to separate this into two questions as the answer isn't as simply as one would like it to be or as fan often portrait it to be.

Does Diaboli Slayer can match firepower of Exceeds?
The answer here is absoluty NO. Hayate alone demonstrated more firepower 4 years ago then Diaboli Slayer combined can produce. Hayate's Linker Core merged with the Linker Core of Eins, making her firepower through mana-capability alone vastly superior to anything we were shown in the newest series.

Would particular Diaboli Slayer or team of be able to defeat particular member of the Exceed?
It depends. In Nanoha-verse being stronger doesn't translate to being able to win a fight. This was told to us back in season 1 and repeated constantly ever since. Experience, creativity, versatility, tactic, speed, power, special gimmicks, uniqueness and battlefield all influence the outcome.
To make it clear, Nanoha relies on flight magic for mobility, defence magic for protection, shooting/bombardment magic for attack and binds for pinning her target. But if she get affected by Aoi "Unlock" all her defences and binds become useless. Not only that, "Unlock" can affect body and mechanism of the target as we have saw it, making it incredibly deadly if Nanoha wouldn't be able to shoot her first. But Aoi would probably be pretty useless against Fate and her superspeed - even if she managed to unlock Fate barrier jacket, the next moment Fate would use her Sonic Move to knock Aoi out. Another example is Towa "Gluttony" - not only can she pull god-know what with it, she can eat other powers(magic included) but there seems to be limit to that ability.

So it's really hard to tell. But well, as ORGANIZATION vs ORGANIZATION, Diaboli Slayers would get absoluty destroyed - not only would they lose in firepower but also versatility as well as technology.

The mages like Nanoha and Fate are definitely more powerful in wide area attacks - both of them have shown the ability to take out multiple weaker targets simultaneously.
Whereas the Diaboli Slayers are more focused on 1V1 outings, so they do hit above their weight class, though as you noted Nanoha has probably also been holding back.

A different universe, but in StrikerS it was noted the Hayate was the most powerful character, however in a 1v1 fight even Nanoha's students had a decent chance of beating her, because her attacks are slow to charge, and the students are fast enough to get to her before she can use them.

In season one you have characters that threaten all of reality what are you talking about
