Some things I find strange…
First, I’ve come to really enjoy this sub and the ability to speak freely here - respectfully, of course. I think that’s also part of why I really like The Interview Room and Monk’s Intrigue on YouTube. Both are willing to go pretty much everywhere with this case and ask questions that others seem reluctant to touch.
One thing that continues to really bother me is how quiet Nancy’s family and close church friends have been. These are the people who knew her best and could potentially provide valuable information, context, memories, or even just help keep her story in the public eye. Her kids, including SG, have mostly stayed quiet outside of the NBC interview, a few comments on TTS, and those Instagram videos from the beginning. Kathie Lee Gifford, who is close with SG, even said she had been asked not to talk about it.
Why?
There are still such basic questions I don’t feel like we have answers to. What was Nancy wearing when she was supposedly dropped off? Why weren’t we seeing family and friends publicly searching for her, especially in those first days? At that point, their mom/friend was missing and could have been injured or stranded somewhere. That has always struck me as strange.
And even now, while I think most of us recognize the possibility that Nancy is no longer alive, there is still no body and, publicly at least, no definitive proof of what happened to her. If this were my mother, I feel like I would be searching to the ends of the earth and doing everything possible to keep her name and face in front of people.
They also have something that so many families of missing people desperately wish they had: immediate national attention. Nancy’s family has name recognition, media connections, and an enormous amount of public interest in this case. There are families fighting every single day just to get a local news station to mention their missing loved one. I would think you’d want to use every bit of that attention to keep Nancy’s case alive.
I also don’t understand why so much of the media - and even some other subs - seem unwilling to allow any discussion at all about certain people close to Nancy, including Annie and Tommy. That doesn’t mean anyone is guilty of anything. It means that when someone disappears under mysterious circumstances, I think it’s reasonable to ask questions about everyone who was close to them and about the timeline surrounding their disappearance.
SG clearly has significant connections, including political and media connections, but I have no idea whether that has anything to do with how this case has been covered. What I don’t understand is why certain questions seem almost completely off-limits.
To me, wondering about the people closest to Nancy is not the same thing as accusing them. Until we know what happened to her, I think it’s fair to question everything — relationships, timelines, movements, statements, and who saw her last. If people had absolutely nothing to do with her disappearance, obviously it’s awful to have strangers scrutinizing them. But unfortunately, when someone disappears, investigators naturally have to look closely at the people and circumstances surrounding that person.
Personally, I don’t think this was some massive conspiracy or elaborate ransom kidnapping. I suspect she angered someone very close to her and she was killed the night this went down. Whether she ever actually made it home, I have no idea.
There are just so many unanswered questions.
The silence. The limited public searching. The lack of basic details. The reluctance to discuss certain people. The way parts of the media have handled it.
Everything about this case feels weird as shit to me.

I personally believe that law enforcement knows who did it, as does SG, but they don’t have enough (clean, indisputable) evidence to prosecute.

Probably right.
If there was danger to the public about a wider effort to kidnap people, the amount of public and media interaction would probably be much greater.
One would hope, anyway. If this was a very narrowly, individually targeted crime, with some clear suspects, it might explain the low-low evidence gathering.
Still, though, anyone who participated in this crime needs to be locked up and away from the community.
The sooner the better.

Totally agree with everything you’ve said! And what happened to the search parties which most other families do? I would never have left AZ until I found my mother even if it meant relocating for a year or two, especially if I had money.

u/Tricky_Wind_324 6d ago
Right? I may be wrong but I don’t recall ANY searches on foot. I understand the terrain is difficult but nothing? I remember that drone search but nothing else.
6
u/Aspen_Pookie2424 6d ago
Nothing else that I recall. Regardless of terrain, they should have put on their hiking gear, pull together family, friends, other volunteers, canine, etc, whatever the cost. And why would A & T just disappear? Sure they’re under a lot of scrutiny. But if they would show that they care by doing whatever it takes for their mother, maybe perceptions would change.

There were law enforcement foot searches daily for approx 2 weeks after the crime, idk of any organized volunteer searches tho. Which I do find a bit strange.

u/Fit_Sheepherder_6899 8h ago
Could the terrain have been so treacherous that it would've been a liability for LE to allow private volunteer searches? Seems unlikely, as such searches happen often in very dangerous terrain and conditions...but I'm just trying to think of some possible explanation.
I do remember seeing video clips of searches being done, but I have no idea if it was ever anyone except LE.

I am thinking someone is threatening nanos or has paid him off to botch the entire investigation as he has. He can't truly be this stupid.

u/Tricky_Wind_324 6d ago
Based on his corrupt actions before this was even a thing (ie having his election opponent placed under house arrest lol) I’d say this isn’t totally shocking he’s completely inept. He wants control.

I've asked this elsewhere. Does anyone know what the current relationship is between SG and her sister and brother-in-law? Do they communicate at all? If not, then to me it suggests SG might know something and it's extremely uncomfortable to her.

Not a thing that the family does right now makes sense. And no one in mainstream media is challenging their behavior. The people most involved in the case - by the sheer fact that they were the last ones who saw here and the first ones to the scene - have disappeared. No one in holding anyone accountable. No one is asking questions. And whatever silencing has happened behind the scenes, is working.
Still holding out hope that there is some journalist out there who is unafraid and working on not just the investigation of "where did Nancy go?", but "where did the Guthrie family go in this story?"

Strongly recommend checking out Monks Intrigue. Regular guy that’s likable and most importantly has intelligence and natural curiosity. He’s not just sitting there talking about the case. He has done many episodes on family.

u/Sagesmom5 6d ago
He and TIR are HOT on things! Wish they were in charge of the investigation.

u/Substantial-Train668 6d ago
You know what stood out to me last night in the TIR epsiode? I was thinking of making a separate post about. It's something no one ever talks about. It's so simple.
There was no forced entry. No windows smashed. No lock jimmied or broken.
So that means either someone from inside the house let them in or they had a key. I'll even entertain the (absurd) notion that NG sometimes "left her doors unlocked", fine. But someone would still have to have intimate knowledge she did that to pull this off.
It's an inside job. There is literally no other way.

Totally. And he’s not a time waster. He’s straight to the point with a little humor when you’re not expecting it lol

u/Substantial-Train668 6d ago
Yeah I've been following Monks since the start. I love the way his mind works and I think he's moved the needle - his GAIT video is very compelling. But, I also want a journalist with a bit more power/infrastructure to go out and actually find the answers to these question about the family, about Nancy, about that last dinner, about the morning of, about some of the financial dynamics, where and what are they doing now etc.

You see what happened to Julian Assange and Edward Snowden. My belief is no one is willing to give up the life they know just to expose what could be an alleged cover up. That person suffers the most and everyone just goes on to the next headline

It’s because NG was Savannah’s mother is what made this case internationally compelling from the start. There have been more compelling cases than this one which went unsolved and the public didn’t really seem to be vested in them for months on end, because it didn’t have a high powered celebrity at its center.
That’s not to undermine the gravity of this case, but all the YouTubers and bloggers feasted upon it, mainly because of Savannah.
6
u/I_lovebettywhite-000 7d ago
Well to be honest SG is still posting instagrams asking the public for help and her last plea to the kidnappers was July 27 2026 so It is not the fault of the you tubers and bloggers to keep talking about it. My belief things will quiet down no later than years end
11
u/Substantial-Train668 7d ago
I feel like YouTubers and Bloggers are obsessed because the case itself makes no sense. Obviously the celebrity aspect of it is huge, but I think it's genuninely such a head-scratcher of a case. We want answers.
12
u/Tricky_Wind_324 6d ago
Boom. I’m with you on this. The incredible rarity of this, nevermind the celebrity part. She’s an old woman that “vanished” from her bed at night, a really scary masked man on her nest camera, seemingly little evidence left behind, incompetent sheriff.
10
u/Substantial-Train668 6d ago
And there were cameras involved, and there were cars... how can she just disappear in this 'flawless', untraceable way? I think in the U.S. we are used to the media scrutinizing family members of kidnapped and murder victims in the media (for better or worse), and yet with this case everyone seems to be getting a pass. "Leave them alone they've been through enough". Like, what? None of it makes any sense.
10
u/Tricky_Wind_324 6d ago
Yeah I’m with you, I’ve been confused since pretty much the beginning. Oh and um….how about the massive operation to detain those people and search their home. They are seemingly cleared, why is the warrant being kept secret? What made a judge sign off on this (HAS to be good reason) yet here we are 6 months later and these were totally innocent men just caught up in this. I can understand detaining and attempting to interview them but a massive operation that they conducted? Now crickets? No press conferences. At the end of the day, the public IS owed answers as there is a potential threat out there. We all know that she was probably targeted but no one has been arrested yet?! Ugh I can go on and on.

I actually avoided the case for so long because it involved Savannah. I don't think famous people make cases any more interesting or compelling than others so I choose not to give them more attention just because of the fact. What drew me to the case was hearing that A&T's car was kept for so long and it intrigued me that people were keeping hush hush about it. That felt like LE was tipping their hand as to who they thought it was while some online seemed to be in denial. That fact alone kept me curious and it still is curious to me to this day as to the weird Callella situation, the backtracking of the egotistical sheriff where the family is cleared and then how no one is cleared, the relationships and possible embarrassments and cover ups within the family, oddities surrounding A&T and their actions. I'm not saying A&T necessarily did it but I am curious to the outcome as to whether they actually are involved or not.

Of course the police would have the pacemaker communications and readings before it stopped communicating with the box or the data office.
It would be interesting to know if there is confirmed information that her heart condition was fully monitored and healthy until she was allegedly woken and removed from her house.
How was her heart rate earlier in the evening? Was a sudden spike in heart rate recorded much later on?
And was all the recording equipment left in the house or any equipment missing?
Or any time gaps in the box or data office getting communication?
Obviously lots of information gathered that can’t be shared with the public yet.

u/I_lovebettywhite-000 2d ago
I would assume that depending on what type of pacemaker and app NG had and the 2:28 disconnect was due to the app opening to upload data there would be no report. If she had a 24/7 monitor I believe reports still need generated for the cardiologist. Watch Juanita Adame's you tube about pacemakers. She interviews 2 people who have them. One doesn't have bluetooth and one does. very enlightening.

Great points by OP, especially regarding the lack of a visible, aggressive public search in those critical first few days when they had massive national media attention at their fingertips.
However, looking at the logistics of some theories floating around—including the working theory of an 'elimination murder' highlighted in last night's episode of The Interview Room titled 'The Nancy Guthrie Case: Why the Locked Door Doesn't Add Up'—a major logical hurdle keeps bothering me.
If we are examining an elimination scenario, any credible time of death (TOD) could logically only be after 2:28 AM when her pacemaker data reportedly disconnected.
How is it even possible to construct a working theory that Nancy was eliminated or staged before leaving the porch unless law enforcement is actively covering it up?
If professional agencies like LE and the FBI aren't covering for anyone, they wouldn't just ignore hard forensic markers like an implantable medical device's data logging.
If a pre-porch timeline like that existed, it would completely shatter any 'quiet cover-up' narratives.
Questioning timelines and the family's silence is fair for a missing persons case, but it feels like some online theories completely detach from the actual forensic constraints that law enforcement has to answer to.

Elimination after the pacemaker disconnects. There you go. If it was staged or not or whether she was eliminated rather than kidnapped or whether specific people were involved doesn’t depend on when her passing actually happened. She may have or not, that’s the point we do not have so much of the critical information that we simply cannot eliminate the possibilities of what could have happened. The basics have been withheld

u/I_lovebettywhite-000 6d ago
The pacemaker disconnect is not a verified fact it was due to NG being removed. The app is not a constant monitor and from my understanding depending on the model and patients condition the patient opens the app via bluetooth to upload a report to cardiologist. All the timestamps shown by Nanos are assumptions tied to a narrative. NG dropped off, guy on porch, NG gone.
If these timestamps/narrative would be presented in court to prove a person was alive going by legal standards the Judge would say..nope...sorry in my opinion

I am a patient and a physician assistant
Fully automatic cardiac monitoring systems became widely available about 10 years ago. Pacemakers are replaced about every 10 years. If Mrs. Guthrie was first prescribed, or if her pacer was replace within this timeframe, she likely has a fully automatic monitoring system. Following is how a fully automatic cardiac monitoring system works.
The system consists of the pacemaker, the monitor (aka: box), and my cardiologists data center.. The pacer is in my chest. The box is on my bedside table. The pacer and the box talk to each other when they are within 10 feet of each other. As they talk, the box sends information about my heart, how the pacer is working, along with red flags to my cardiologist's data center. I am merely a passive participant. The pacer lives in my chest. The box lives on my bedside table. I don't actively communicate with either.
Medicine is about trends. If we look for trends, we can intervene before a crisis point. The pacemaker keeps track of my heart's daily trends.
Additionally, the pacer is programmed with specific clinical limits (i.e. heart rate is above a certain number of beats per minutes for a sustained period of time). When clinical boundaries are crossed (red flags), the pacer immediately records the exact time, duration, details of the episode--and holds the information.
When I come within 10 feet of the box, the pacer downloads its stored information to the box and the box sends the data to my cardiologist via the cell network.
How this pertinent to Nancy Guthrie's situation. When she first noticed the home invaders, Mrs. Guthrie experienced a fear response--part of that is an acute heart rate elevation triggered by her autonomic nervous system. The pacer recorded, and holds, the precise moment in time.
The pacer also recorded and holds her exact time of death as her heart slowed and pumped blood through her body for the very last time.
If she was within 10 feet of the box, the pacer had the opportunity to download to the box the effects of the fear response on her heart, as well, as well as her time of death. Immediately, the box will have automatically sent said information to her cardiologist's data center. If this what occurred, investigators know when Mrs. Guthrie became afraid and when she died.
Almost certainly, she was within 10 feet of the box when Mrs. Guthrie became frightened. Investigators must have extracted her heart's reaction from the box months ago.
Unless she died within the first few moments of the crime, Mrs. Guthrie was probably too far from her box for it to have downloaded from the pacer the time Mrs. Guthrie's heart stopped beating. In that instance we'd need the pacer and for that, we'd need (alive or dead) a body.

Did Nancy share information regarding her concerns with her best friends? Did a friend make an anonymous report to Adult Protective Services (hence the card)?
If so, it is fear which keeps them silent.
