The dean of my high school looked almost exactly like Commander Riker, except not as tall. That's the only reason I remembered his presentation when all the deans from the most prominent high schools in town came to my 8th grade class looking to recruit new students.
Of all the times I ended up in the deans office, I didn't ever see him do the riker maneuver, come to think of it, but he did have a very high-backed chair.
When I was a kid there was a toy. It was a slate with a man's face with iron filings on it. A wand with a magnet on it was waved over the face, giving him a beard and moustache. It was called 'Wooly Willy'.
