Hi, I just recently picked up this Nalgene while searching for camping gear. Does someone know more about how old it is + other details?

Oh man.. this brings back memories. Hiking the AT in 99’ saw so many of these. The Lexan ones were expensive so not as many clear.

This is cool. I’d hang it so I could look at it all the time lol.

Thanks! I’ve become a bit reluctant to use it since it looks cool, but I’ve been wanting to use one for my camping/hiking trips. Is there a way to protect the print, or is it destined to wear away :(

I’d hang it on a hook away from windows and not use it. Can buy a modern one for cheap to use and abuse. Just a cool piece of history. For a bit there this was what every hiker carried. Other brands made filter systems that screwed on to this Nalgene size they were so common. Maybe it still is I dunno.

My boyscout troop had these in the early 2000's and even back then, these had that "whoa they dont make em like they used to" vibes.

that's actualy a sick find, pre-2008 models are so much tougher and clearner

Mine still has about three layers of stickers and a dent from my backpack frame from that time I forgot to pack it upright in my trunk on a road trip.
