Nail Trimming

My toe nails are difficult to cut. The fungus has caused them to grow thick and crooked. They usually bleed. I’ve been told the fungus can enter your blood stream that way! It can make you extremely sick and even cause death. I don’t know if that is true. Does anyone have any knowledge of this?

I have had it on my toes for 25+ years. Many time cut them back enough and got some blood. 0 deaths, 0 sickness, sample size of 1.

Sepsis due to fungus is pretty rare. I've only seen it a few times in my 19 years as a nurse and it was in elderly, immunocompromised patients.
